Chickenfoot, the new band comprising ex-Van Halen-ers Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, guitar-shredding legend Joe Satriani, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, have announced details of their first album. According to the NME the band’s eponymous CD will be released on June 5 with track titles including "Sexy Little Thing", "Soap On A Rope," and "Down the Drain." The last two songs can also be heard on the band’s myspace page. In an interview last year Hagar declared that Chickenfoot "could rival Zep." Personally, I suspect the man behind Cabo Wabo Tequila may have been getting a little too high on his own supply when he made that statement. But give the tracks a listen and tell us what you think.

Hey Clark,
Journalists are suppose to be subjective. You were very negative in your comment, and you most certainty didn’t give all the details about Sammy’s Zeppelin comment. Any first year college student knows better than to write like you just did. Try reading about objectivity, you might learn something.
Personally, I think this tour and album will be FUN – which is what rock and roll is suppose to be. They are all great musicians, and at least they are having fun.
Sounds pretty good. Zeppelin? No! But not bad.
Satriani bald?
Satriani has been a ‘chrome dome’ for years now.
chad smith can do better
What’s Will Farrell doing with them?
” It’s been a long time since I rock and rolled. . .” Maybe it ain’t Led Zeppelin but I haven’t heard buzz like this for a LONG time. Songs are great so far!!. Show Eddie how it’s really done! Who cares about the Zeppelin comment? Only people who write articles like this ( and dream of working for Rolling Stone Magazine ) would care! Give it up and go LISTEN to the music, if you dare!
Not even close to Zeppelin or DLR era Van Halen.Closer to Velvet Revolver territory .Songs sound like generic Van Hagar era outtakes that didnt make it without Eddie or Alex magic .I don`t hear the so called Van Halen backgound vocals either .I`ll wait for the Real Deal to come out when dave ed alex and wolfie hit the studio in June .
Wow,that was crap.I`d expect more from joe, rythm wise.I`ll wait for dave, eddie, and alex to jam again. These clowns need a new producer.
Sammy`s ripping off Dr Suess for lyrics now ?? Songwriting sounds a little under developed , but i guess some people will buy anything.
This is a great lineup anyway you slice it. It has nothing to do with Van Halen, Joe’s Solo Career, or Chad & the Chillies! The is band about playing na making music with no egos what so ever. I have met every one of these guys and the are all down to earth honest people and amazing musicians. Let get them a chance guys. Look forward to the release in June.
Led Zep? Gimme a break. After their first 2 albums it was dribble. This band sounds great and should have at least 1 good album to have us enjoy.
LOL at John who thinks that DLR and Wolfie are going to save EVH from his 14 year dry spell.
This is great news!
you were very negative…waaaaaaaaah…shut the f*ck up…its a review loser
A fantastic first effort! Sounds great and FUN! Maybe this will inspire Eddie Van Wanker to release some of these phantom tracks he’s been yacking about for years. can’t wait for the show! DLR and the sisters Van Halen are old news.
