Terence Trent d’Arby – “Sign Your Name”
Massive Attack – “Protection”
Mazzy Starr – “Fade Into You”
Lisa Stansfield – “In All the Right Places”
Eric Benet – the entire ‘A Day in the Life’ album
DMB, “Lover Lay Down” (In college, the latter song incited my roommates and I to identify a new category of music known as “Hit the Floor” songs, as in, you show up at a guy’s place and that song is playing and… clothes and often bodies just… hit the floor.)
Billy Currington, “Must Be Doin’ Something Right” (mee-yow)
Bob Marley, “Waiting in Vain”
Ben Lee, “Blush” (love that one!)
It’s definetly “Hey” by Pixies. It’s probably a weird pick, but just listen to the slow buildup leading to some of the sexiest lo-fi guitars I’ve ever heard. I’ve been scoring my imaginary scene of a Thelma and Louis era Brad Pitt and I making out to this song for quite some time now lol.
somersault-zero 7
lover i dont have to love-bright eyes
try me (1958 version)-james brown
dreamworld-robin thicke
mango tree-angus and julius stone
oh! and crash by dave mathews band
Milo, are you kidding? The *only* time Bono has sounded sexy?? Have you ever even heard “Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?” Wow. Smokin’ hot.
Oh, and I saw someone suggest “Ball and Biscuit” by the white Stripes. I’d add “Black Math” to that too, but that’ll probably lead to more than making out within 15 seconds. Then afterwards you can cuddle and listen to “We’re Going To Be Friends”.
Ohh, Clynngo, great call: “Two hearts beating like a flower…” God, I love that song!
If a song is set right to a makeout scene in a movie for some reason I will add it to my playlist of makeout songs. Most recently and randomly is “Don’t Make Me Wait” by This World Fair from Disturbia. A movie I just finally got around to watching.
I have to agree with Warren. Best of Bread is great makeout music. Although I’m in my mid-30′s
Er, make that “fading” like a flower… what a dumba$$ I am…
How about
Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton
Your body is a wonderland – John Mayer
“Pour Some Sugar on Me”, best tipsy make out song ever!
Damien Rice, Ray Lamontagne and Iron & Wine can always be counted on to create a nice atmosphere. And a little Ryan Adams / Jeff Buckley action never hurts.
Amen, Rox!! Glory Box, best song EVER!
