BBT is severely OCD, for real, he’s kinda whack, so maybe that’s just him having a bad day w/o his meds.

He’s a flake, always has been. I mean, the guy has a phobia about antique furniture and silver flatware. What a twit. I’m sure his band members just “love” him as a frontman. Does he really think there aren’t thousands out there who aren’t better muscians. He’s only touring because he’s Billy Bob. Now they can see he’s just Billy BOOB

If Canadians are like potatoes without gravy, Billy Bob can rest assured that this missing duality doesn’t apply to him. He is both the bull and the feces. (Lots of other combinations that apply, but I’m supposed to restrain myself on this site.)

I just watched the whole thing. To me I saw Billy Bob wanting to create a new phenomenom for him and the band that stands on it’s own. Without the persona of his Acting Career. There was an agreement to not connect his acting and there was a breakdown in communication between the producer and interviewer. Where would be Boxmasters be without Billy Bob Thorton? He’s out to create that, to stand on their own and be sought after for thier music and not because of his “Acting” fame. I applaud Billy Bob Thorton for standing firm on his committment to create the Boxmasters.

To Diva Bob: Stay at home – we don’t need/want you in Canada…not until you’re an actual artist anyhow.

Agree. A band appears because they want publicity and then they dictate what can or can’t be discussed and then when they don’t get their way they sulk like an eight year old child? I began being interested in BBT and his music and ended up thinking I will not watch him or listen to him again. Like so many celebrities – usually the less talented ones – he believes his publicity and has lost touch with reality …

“Justin Timberlake was hugely famous at a young age, but in person comes across as a very friendly and comparatively grounded guy.”
Timberlame is no exception–he is a complete egomaniac. Perhaps he pretends to be friendly when the press camera or recorders are rolling, but it’s just an illusion. The guy is an arrogant jerk. Maybe you should’ve used someone like Kelly Clarkson as an example.

I’ve never seen someone so wasted and incompetent. I was interested in hearing their latest, but now I wouldn’t give a dime to support them.

    Drug problem anyone?

I just felt really sorry for his bandmates. I felt their frustration and awkwardness.
I thought that the host handled that situation with a lot of class.
I have no patience for petulant “stars.”

    What an dick!

For those who try to defend this douchebag by saying Jian violated some sort of rule or instruction not to discuss his movie career – you should check your facts. First, BBT’s own publicist admits there was no such rule. Second, the host mentions BBT’s career only in introducing him, but poses no questions about the subject. To make no reference to his movie career before he launched this new career would be stupid at best. And, as many have already pointed out, no one would care about this band if it weren’t for his celebrity status – he certainly wouldn’t be opening for Willie Nelson if he was just a member of some band.

What an a-hole. he should just be happy he has a career in acting or music. Its an a dream job. count your blessings BB. No need to be such a pr**k. Your no Mother Hips or Tom Petty. Those bands have real musical talent and your music sucks!

I love Billy Bob, He should get an Oscar for this. The interview had rules, the interviewer chose to ignore them, he got what he deserved (actually his producer did, kudos to the interviewer for keeping his cool and understanding the situation).
Kind of like the Traveling Willburys, it wasn’t about the musicians, it was about the music.
Producers suck and Billy Bob was putting this one in his place – too bad you have know the business to get it.
The conversation between the host and his producer AFTER the show would be 100 times more fun to watch than this.
I support Mr. Thornton for refusing to let the interview go towards him, not THE band or THEIR music.

TheTruth… are you kidding me? The guy just wanted to have a conversation with BBT about his band and their experiences and BBT was an ASS about it. Maybe if he answered his questions, the dude wouldn’t be left with awkward pauses to fill with random questions. And they had only released 3 albums and the other two are part of the 2 disk sets.. so its still 3 albums. Idiot.
