Head-case extraordinaire.
I hate when these types think that when they decide to switch gears’ and ‘do what they love’ they get all deeply Jim Morrison about it. Billy Bob is an actor turned singer… his success as an ACTOR is written in stone. Now he decides to smugly shun that fact. Ungrateful swine!
I’d have embarrassed him on air. Oh wait…he did that himself.
I saw the interview. He really has done a great disservice to his band members who have probably had to put up with his huge ego for the past 2 years. He is obviously ungrateful for the fame, which is also the reason his band gets any of the attention it’s getting. Too bad for his band mates who have put in so much time and effort. They were really trying to cover for his ridiculous and immature behavior.
Saw Billy Bob’s outfit last night at Massey Hall, here in Toronto. He can’t sing, his band is boring, and he demanded a standing ovation (being Canadian, 2/3 of the hall stood up!) that he didn’t even remotely deserve. Ray Price came on next, and at 83, blew the preceding amateur hour act right off the stage. Go back to Hollywood, Billy Bob. Performing live music at venues of this calibre is best left to professionals.
Since I saw this, I looked for other interviews with the band and they all come off a arrogant, self-righteous, and way too over-confident. Their music is amateurish and I’m actually a fan of the styles of music that they claim as influences. The only reason that they can even grace the same stage as Willie Nelson is because of Thorton’s previous careers. So, if he doesn’t want to mention it, then he and the rest of his band should go back to the garage they came from.
Truth is if BB had just addressed the interviewers questions and got on with it, they would have eventually gotten to discuss “the music”. As it is now, he just made a fool of himself.
Billy Bob Thornton. .. .. Just trying to make sure I remember that name so that I can actively avoid it for the rest of my life. Does that idiot think his money came from people that know him to be like this? It makes no difference what flag you wave or what language you speak – being a jeuvenile imbecile like this is going to be very bad for an artist’s career.
The interviewer was an excellent class-act BTW, so much so in fact that I’d bet he would accept an apology and a return interview with BBT. I’m not so sure it’ll happen though because the oscar-award winning ego will likely go on blaming the interviewer for being provocative when in fact he was going out of his way to give the BOXmasters/MATCHboxs some positive noteriety.
I think BBT was completely unproffesional and downright rude. If I were one of the other band members I would have stepped in and asked that all questions be directed to anyone but BBT because he was in the middle of a tempertantrum like a 2- yr old. Very bad press for the band. I like Willie Nelson but I would not go to the concert if I new this arrogant band was playing with him.
Sorry to all you BB supporters, but this was just rude and juvenile behavior. I found nothing wrong with this hosts line of questioning. Larry King, Rolling Stone or whoever would ask the same. Billy Bob seems to be suffering from delusions of grandeur like so many other wannabee musicians.
Or he’s pulling a Joaquin Phoenix. But I’d put money on the delusions myself.
Something is wrong with Mr Thornton.
That was ridiculous! The host was really good about working through that interview!
The problem with BBT is that he’s a joke. Once upon a time, he was recognized for his merits as displayed in the award-winning Sling Blade. That was a long time ago. Monster’s Ball was garbage except for Halle Berry’s performance and if BBT’s name is in a movie’s credits these days, it’s a safe bet that it’s crap. He is, at best, a minor footnote who will be remembered as the guy married to Angelina Jolie before she decided to make something of herself.
This isn’t about some blowhard being asked “insulting” questions. It’s all about BBT and what a complete and utter jacka$$ he is. Why did he agree to the interview in the first place? I’ll tell you why: To spread the word about his band and move product. He failed miserably as a musician and as a human being. There is such a thing as being a gracious guest but I suppose that isn’t a necessity when you have a cushey acting career and residuals to fall back upon. I feel sorry for his bandmates who don’t have the same luxury as their egotistical and mean-spirited frontman. Just what music needs; another semi-talented primadonna with no social graces. Old Billy Bob can take that chip off of his shoulder and shove it up his rear end. What a Schmendrick. Blah and phooey.
It’s too bad when artists attempt any type of censorship. It’s quite telling that Billy Bob had the CBC program “instructed” in advance as to what could not be discussed. What an arrogant egomaniac.
the glasses were reminscence of buddy holly and bbh of deliverance, and jain
you could have made that interview short and sweet after bb’s second jab.
I THINK THE BAND WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT.
OMG!!! What an A-Hole!! I cannot belive that DJ didn’t just punch him in the face. And btw he really embarrassed himself!! I think the whole country had a good laugh at his expense. My guess… they won’t sell one record and BBT won’t get another movie after this… good luck jackasses
