Hhahahaha Brandon Flowers should keep his mouth shut, he always has to state his stupid opinions.
HE shouldn’t even have the right to speak Kurt Cobain’s name because well.. he thinks that he is pretty freaking awesome and he just sort of… COMPLETELY sucks! ahaahaa

I think b-flow isnt up to the stardom of Kurt cobain and should learn he isn’t all that Kurt cobain just gave a generation of worried teenagers a chance to rebel

Read the actual article and you’ll see that he wasn’t really bashing anyone…

Seriously, I hate when people have to stir up shit.

Does anyone else think that The Killers and Nirvana are two of the greatest bands of all time? Flowers and Cobain both have written the catchiest songs that I end up singing all day. Cobain and Flowers are/were unbelievably charismatic and talented.

Pop? Cobain turned alternative into pop. He said himself, he aspired to mesh punk with the Beatles–Sounds pop to me.

Rock? Flowers music is the the definition. Because it has catchy hooks, pleasant melodies and dynamic bridges –finally– it’s considered pop? Oh well, the lines get a little fuzzy on labeling genres.

More to the point… Brandon Flowers is up-beat and positive and straightforward. Cobain was self-depreciating, negative and abstract. Those respective moods are more than evident in their music. So, Flowers is right about the mood of grunge.

I dig The Killers. I need their bright upliftings tunes as much as I need Nirvana’s angst and dissatisfaction. I enjoy sunny days and stormy days.

P.S. Speaking of opinions, Cobain was far less gentle in his critique of other bands than Flowers is of Nirvana. Just look up Cobain’s feelings about Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder.

Who does this guy think he is? Flowers might think that rock is all skipping through the meadows, but he’s wrong. The Killers aren’t rock: they’re posers. Kurt Cobain was a rock angel gifted to us. Rock isn’t supposed to be flowery. It’s supposed to be true and mood-evoking.

Im gonna have to disagree with Brandon here.If all of you would do your research you would realize that Kurt Cobain was not depressed. After his In Utero album he was always happy and cheerfull in his journals. And he never killed himself either.(For example)The wound on his arm from the heroin shot was rushed and it was as if he was stabbed because the tissue in his arm was messy.Anyways ill take grunge over glam anyday.I would rather here something real than something fake. The 80s did have some good bands come out of it but none of them were glam.Haha Thats why Nirvana knocked the king of pop off the number 1 spot.Name a glam band thats done that to Michael Jackson.Grunge was just a genre that was meant to be.Music needed change and we got our change. The best music came out of the early to mid 90s.Nowadays its all about money grubbing rappers who have absolutley no substance in their music. Now on the other hand The mid 90′s had the best rap music. So where im getting at here is that Kurt Cobain didnt change music he was just one of those guys that would put their heart and soul in their music.Hes one of very few guys to posesse that ability

I don’t think he “Dissed” Cobain with his comment, that’s just his opinion.I’m a huge fan of Nirvana but I agree with him,The Killers’ music is much more brighter than Nirvana’s.

    THE KILLERS SUCK BALLS

    • John Sheehan

and by suck balls, i mean inspire everything i do in my entire life. they have given me everything i need, and it doesn’t matter how i feel, brandon has created a beautiful poem to get me through any emotion my body can possibly conjure. he is a lyrical genius, and i will forever be in debt to everything he has made my life to be.

kurt only had one good song smells like teen spirit the rest garbage the killers have alot more like 99% of their songs rock!

  • Sam Watts

i find playing and listening nirvana and other grunge stuff way more enjoyable than anything else, and i find the “playful and bright” rock really boring and annoying
