As a big fan of Eminem’s work, I’d normally be thrilled to hear that he’ll be performing live at this year’s MTV Movie Awards on May 31. My enthusiasm is slightly curbed in this case by the possibility that Em will be performing his fairly god-awful comeback single, "We Made You." Still, I’m willing to give Marshall the benefit of the doubt for now. This performance will come just a week or so after his new album, Relapse, drops, and I’m assuming/hoping that "We Made You" isn’t indicative of the full album’s tone. So maybe Em will take this opportunity to remind us that he’s actually a hugely talented lyricist, not just a lowest-common-denominator jester. And, hey, given Eminem’s history at MTV awards broadcasts, chances are this will be a memorable night no matter what. Considering all that, I’m sure I’ll be tuning in. Will you?

I haven’t really liked an Eminem single in quite a while, starting with the “Encore” CD, and both Crack a Bottle and We Made You are..eh. I’ll probably won’t be watching the movie awards- I rarely find them interesting anyway.
yeah, let’s ALL not hope for a we made you performance…or maybe even not one at all. honestly, the guy needs to move on. making fun of celebrities to get some attention is tired…kind of like marshall….
I won’t be watching. It has nothing to do with eminem, it’s that mtv is what’s god-awful. Their movie and video music award shows suck. Just like the channel itself, it’s living off what they did in the 80s and 90s and now it’s just bad. The name is there but not the product.

I have all of Eminem’s cds…but his new material so far doesn’t live up to my expectations..for me what made him who he is…is his ability to write some of the best lyrics in the game and right now the new stuff just doesn’t cut it…

The album should of been called “Regurgitate”
people need to stop hating on eminem… were you expecting a “kill you” type single? those type of songs can’t be put on a radio or become a single… notice this song has no curse words… because eminem wants a single … and even with this song… he is a lyrical genius… stop listening to the beat of the song and get past the fact that he takes shot at all these reality stars and listen to his flow and how he puts words together so well… while i LOVE having the drug addicted angry eminem talking about killing people… this is not what is going to get him a single…listen to the lyrics and stop focusing on the video
I have been an Eminem fan for years now, and I was scared thet all his personal drama was gonna change him, clearly it hasnt so I am a happy fan. I do not like the video much but I think the flow,the hook and the beat is sick,I am still working on the words
Eminem is a genius.
I hate it when people throw that word about normally but I think Em is genuinely deservant of the title ‘Musical Genius’ or ‘Lyrical Genius’.
Not only are his lyrics and insane range of flows totally engaging but he’s also a brilliant producer.
The Way I Am, Renegade, Soldier… All from scratch. Such interesting beats.
Anybody who is a real fan of Em knows not to take his jokey lead singles as anything to go by in terms of what the album will sound like.
And you the writer of this article, if you are as you say, a fan, then you of all should know this too.
Record execs only care about record sales so he has to dumb down and take cheap shots to get the initial buzz. But I’ve no doubt the rest of the album will be absolute brilliance.
I can’t wait.

okay we all know his first single is always a funny one. he is going to come out personal stuff like he always does, we just gotta be patient and wait for it.
