So often today, good looks come before talent.
Susan Boyle is no hit wonder, and if she trains her voice a bit more she will be even more talented.
This is not the end of Susan Boyle, but the beginning. She HAS won our hearts with her beauty. Those with closed hearts and minds will never see why. Pity.

I’m beginning to think there’s something wrong with me because I never had a problem with Susan Boyle’s looks. She has really nice eyes. She has a nice smile. I never even gave a thought about anything else until I heard all the negative comments. I think she should have won. In my mind she did win. I am glad she did not cave in to all the pressure of a makeover. She is her own person, and for that I give her all the credit in the world. Keep singing, Susan. I hope you go as far as you want to with your career. You deserve the best.

What difference do looks make? I would love to see all you critical people. I’ll bet you are all hideous. You certainly are on the inside! Look back to the 50s. Frank Sinatra was a skinny average guy. Kate Smith was huge. Later, the Rolling Stones were and are ugly. Ad infinitum. Who cares? Talent is what matters, dummies!

I could listen to Susan Boyle sing all day! Her voice is breath-taking and heavenly. No one would be able to sing like that unless blessed from above! Appearance usually matters, always have, but in Susan’s case… I could watch her sing all day! Has she received a record deal yet? I think the only CDs I’ve ever purchased was Linkin’ Park’s Hybrid Theory and Meteora; however, I’d be the first in line to get Susan’s! I would love to hear her sing sweet soul music and rhythm and blues. Her voice is unique like Duffy (Aimée Ann Duffy), a pleasure and a privilege to hear.

I read that the average buyer of CDs is over 40 – young people prefer not to pay for their music. I’m 47 and I’ll buy Susan’s CD the day it’s released, and then wait in suspense for the next one. What’s this nonsense about her looks? She’s homely, certainly, but she is NOT “ugly” – she has beautiful skin, and loads of character, and she shouldn’t change a thing – NO makeover necessary. The entertainment and plastic surgery industries have completely skewed our concept of what is real. Susan is REAL. I just hope that she can get through all that’s happening to her now and come out happy at the other end.

I only have one question, even for those who mean well when they say now that Boyle doesn’t have to change – how many of you THOUGHT she needed to do something about her looks when she stood on the stage BEFORE she SANG AND _”PROVED”_ her worth?
The sad thing is we are treated and probably treat others (to various extent) in the same superficial way. I don’t think many people (probably some, but not many) would speak the same kind words to Boyle if she didn’t prove herself to be a great singer. I don’t mean to be cynical here. I am just making a comment about reality, and reflecting on how I should make an even greater attempt at being less superficial in the future.

I love susan boyle and I would buy her record in a second streisand did not have a nose job because she thought it would ruin her voice susan should stay exactly the way she is and I adore her for it.
