As if we needed another sign that Miley Cyrus is taking over the world, the ‘tween pop phenom is now dominating the Billboard Hot 100. Six songs off the soundtrack for Hannah Montana: The Movie — which just so happened to rule the box office this past weekend — span this week’s singles chart from No. 8 to No. 88, including Miley’s "The Climb," BFF Taylor Swift’s track "Crazier," andMiley’s duet with dear old dad Billy Ray, "Butterfly Fly Away." While the Black Eyed Peas’ "Boom Boom Pow" held on to the top spot, the Hannah Montana tunes are climbing at a steady rate. Miley’s "Hoedown Throwdown" has seen big success in the past few days, with a 119 percent rise in downloads. And with a song title like that, who could be surprised?

Im not a fan of miley but her new single The Climb has really grown on me i just think its a beautiful song and she sings it well too.
I have been tempted to go buy the album but i guess we’ll see…
Haven’t purchased any of the Miley/Hannah tracks, but expect “The Climb” to go even higher once sales from Miley’s AI peerformance on iTunes is factored in on next week’s Billboard chart. I know its all seasonal & many new country albums are dropped in April(SEE:Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean) in order to tie into the Academy of Country Music Awards 2 weeks ago, but have no fear, all the big pop & hip-hop albums are all on deck, ready to set Spring & then summer into sizzle. The country strangle-hold ends next week with the releases from Asher Roth & Rick Ross. I gotta admit, I actually really love the electronica/dance leaning vibe of the new Flo Rida album, but no surprise its not selling, since most of the stuff is so produced, he has no ‘hood hits’ on it. Anyone else like the album? The songs “Touch Me”, “Jump” with Nelly Furtado & “Dancer” would all make great summer singles!! If you’ve slept on the release cause of the over saturation of “Right Round” or “Sugar” go check those songs

i like miley cyrus. i’m not a huge fan like a lot of the young teens and kids are, but i really like her song “the climb”, and like someone else said, i’m sure “the climb” will go even higher on itunes now that miley cyrus was on idol. that’s what happened with kanye and flo rida, too, and now jennifer hudson’s song “if this isn’t love” will probably go up as well, now that they all sang on idol. and i did just buy “the climb”, and it’s a really good song like i wrote before. i think that miley is a good singer and people need to get over themselves saying, “oh i hate miley”, and crap like that. she’s not a bad kid.
jason… i think the young girl actually has talent… she might not have to the best voice… but niether does taylor swift… and i love taylor swift.. i think she is so genuine… if us actually watch the show occasionally .. it is well acted… and take it in context… it is for young girls.. it isn’t shawshank redemption….. i don’t understand people who post cruel things… the fact that your actually reading the article and posting .. speaks volumes of your true feelings….

i think she’s a good singer but i think the gates of hell just opened and i blame the disney corporation for shoving the climb on every show and all the radio stations the climb is going to be like her fathers only hit song they are going to shove it to people untill the end of the world.
I have bought the cd and love almost all of the songs. The Climb is such a good song with a really good message. I am a big Miley fan and I don’t see her success coming to an end anytime soon.
Isn’t it basically pointless for an adult to complain about a teen star? Why in the world do all of you even waste your time thinking about her if you don’t like her? I could care less about Miley, but it’s just absurd to see so many people crying and whining over her success. Why not spend your time thinking about something that you actually DO like, instead of obsessing over someone that you don’t?

Miley Cyrus is an awesome singer! I think that you should be proud of a young 16 year old girl who is trying to make kids and teens happy. It is brave to be christian and amazing, and it’s brave to sing in front of thousands of people and do movies, it’s gotta be stressful.
I downloaded the Hannah Montana soundtrack because it was the deal of the day on Amazon and figured my 12 year old niece would love it. Little did I know that I would love it too. It s great for “children” of all ages. They are catchy tunes for everyone. You don’t have to be between 12-18 to enjoy this soundtrack. Personally, I love Taylor Swift’s song “Crazier.”
Lewis, you’re right. Everyone has different tastes, and just because a person doesn’t like something, why do they feel they have to broadcast it to the world? Who cares? There’s enough variety in this world for everyone so let’s respect each others choices if it doesn’t cause any harm.

So I took my 12 year old niece to see the movie after which we returned to the house, looked up the “how to do the hoedown throwndown” video on YouTube(bless it!) and proceed to spend the next hour working on perfecting the sweet dance moves. Yep, this 29 year old can rock putting her “hawk in the sky” and “countrifying it” with the best of them!!
