Why haven’t I heard anything about Atmosphere. He was on at the same time as the killers. WAY BETTER. and was forced to do an encore!!! THAT’S a headliner.

I was at Coachella, and I’ll happily admit that we skipped the Killers. In fact, Saturday’s line-up at the main stage was so weak that we didn’t catch a SINGLE act at the main stage. So, you wonder, how did we fill our day? Thenewno2; Dr. Dog; Henry Rollins; Calexico; Fleet Foxes (magical!); Band of Horses; Chemical Brothers’DJ set.
My idea of a Coachella headlining band is to have some truly amazing and heavyweight act, like Radiohead, Coldplay, etc. etc. I had secretly hoped that U2 would headline one of the evenings this year. The Killers headling Coachella? Are you serious? They made ONE good album (the debut album).
And Whitney’s suggestion of Fall Out Boy as a Coachella headliner? Get out of here!

My daughter was there and she said the Killers show was amazing, but she also found it weird and sad that streams of people were leaving the show.

The KILLERS aren’t my favorite band, but I was super impressed by their show and energy. Everyone was jumping up & down while singing along. When the crowd echoed “I GOT SOUL BUT I’M NOT A SOLDIER,” that was pretty awesome. Exactly what a headliner should be. I left, as many others, to go see Atmosphere & MSTRKRFT (who had a surprise guest John Legend). The esssence of Coachella is that you get to see all these great musicians all in one weekend. I think I would’ve left no matter who was on the main stage that night.

OutKast! The festival needed OutKast to headline Saturday night. They have “it”. They would have killed the Killers.

I was there and I am a huge Killers fan, but they sucked, no two ways about it, I had just seen Jenny Lewis and Band of Horses rock the smaller stage, so when the Killers came out, I was hugely disappointed.

MIA was AWFUL, and for the second year in a row. I really enjoy her music and I bit my tongue to hear what my friends, who came from points as diverse as Miami, NYC, DC and LA (bringing with them diverse tastes), thought. The consensus was not pretty. On the other hand the Killers were universally praised, I had soured on the Killers recently and their performance roped me back in with ferocity. But it’s not cool, or indie, to like the Killers…the irony of course lying in the original cool, indie vibes they relied upon to emerge as the band of the millennial decade.
As for the paltry crowd, well, I couldn’t tell you, I was too busy surrounded by jumping sweating souls roused from MIA’s trainwreck by an epic Killers performance. You might have been unjustifiably comparing the Killers crowd to the previous night’s McCartney following.
I’m certainly not a Killers fanboy, but I’m continuously annoyed by the assault from faux critics and message boards on a band that’s proven they have it

Whoever wrote this article is clearly out of touch. It must be so sad to be a rock critic. I cant think of anyone more boring to see a show with, a big sorry to your “friend” josh who had to endure your dull hypothetical criticism of an awesome night. you were probably too busy formulating your opinions to notice that people were having a great time. I am not sure which Killers performance you saw, because the one I attended blew us ALL in teh audience away.
