Eminem's '3 A.M.': Hear it here

Another track from Eminem’s Relapse has hit the web (RapRadar got the world premiere), and it’s a whole lot darker in sound and content than "We Made You." My take after a couple of quick spins: This is, more or less, the Eminem I’ve been waiting for. Yes, he’s still rapping in a silly accent for some reason, and he takes an obvious potshot at Kim Kardashian’s anatomy again, but I don’t even care. Do you hear the way he’s flowing? "I remember the first time I dismembered a family member, December I think it was…" Nobody finds poetry in violence and perviness like Marshall. He’s a majorly offensive verbal acrobat, the world’s most eloquent sociopath.

Give "3 A.M." a listen below (NSFW lyrics, of course), then weigh in. What do you think of Eminem’s latest?

Yeah, much better than We Made You. The weird voice is still kind of annoying, but there’s a great flow on this track.

What is Eminem’s problem he is sooo annoying i’ve never found him funny or an amazing rapper

You forgot to mention that along with Kim he also mentions Hannah Montana. Maybe he can battle them. This is certainly no Lose Yourself. I, infact, found it boring. Almost fell asleep half way through.

Disappointed. Not as good as his other stuff. He should have stayed retired.

That dumb accent voice again? REEEALLY? Ugh.
And honestly I couldn’t even believe someone as talented as him would waste his time putting has-beens like Lohan, Kim Kardashian and Bret Michaels in his songs… (I hate them obviously). Time to get back to the “Way I Am” rapper.

Much better than We Made You. I’m with you…THIS is the Eminem I like. Stop slamming on stupid celebrities and just kick some ass with your rhymes. Like “Soldier”:
I’m a lit fuse, everything I do begets news, pistol-whipping mother-f—ing bouncer, 6’2″, Who needs bullets? As soon as I pull it, you sweat bullets. An excellent method to get rid of the next bully. And actually better cause instead of you murderin’, you can hurt ‘em and come back and keep burnin’ em.
    Frickin’ awesome.

Well if you almost fell asleep half way through then you’re not a hip-hop fan. You’re a hip-pop fan.
Any real hip-hop fan is gripped during this song. The wordplay and flow is incredible.
And the fact you compared it to Lose Yourself shows me that you’re just a singles fan. Not a hip-hop / real fan. Get lost.
    This song is awesome.

as someone who has been so frustrated with eminem’s vocals (Ass Like That, anything on Re-Up# since Encore, i don’t find his voice to be a problem on here at all. it’s higher pitched, but i don’t really hear an accent #he does change his inflection a few times to make certain words rhyme together). he’s not slurring his words or shouting loudly and on this track he has re-discovered his flow. i think this shows a lot of promise.

MUCH BETTER. I was getting worried after “We Made You.” The 19th cannot get here fast enough.

    argghhhhh
i was really hoping this song would hit hard.
he’s obviously not aware that if he just rapped like he used to, his music would blow up and he’s be re-crowned as king of the rap game.
his lyrics are clever yes, but that new voice hes puttin on isnt for me.
he really needs to step up his game cus people like asher roth are gonna steal the lime light. i heard his album and i love it, hes sick with the lyrics, he doesnt put on stupid voices, and the producers did a good job. i really fuckin hope relapse doesnt contain more songs like the last 3 hes released.

This song is SO SICK! Man, I think the problem is that we haven’t had hip hop at this level in so long that it is hard for people to see how DOPE this song is. His voice is the same as on With Me. His voice works for this song. We Made You is.. eehhh.. not that great. But this song is so well written and the beat is so sick that it is addicting. I can’t wait for his new album!

I still don’t understand why everybody gives this guy a free pass when it comes to his albums. Honestly, nobody I know says “hey let’s throw on an eminem album” years…heck even months, after the fact. They’re all basically one-time listens. Plus, he releases these ridiculous poppy singles followed by a deeper song. He’s one of the biggest names in the game but sticks to the same formula every album. Look at Kanye and how he switches styles and changes music. PLUS, Em has reduced Dr. Dre to making God awful beats. I can’t remember the last time I heard an amazing Dre beat. Last I can think of is “Hustlaz” by Nas and the Game and that still just sounds like Scott Storch to me.

Incredible flow. Hannah Montana is 16 though. =/

  • ToatsMaGoats

u people need to stop trippin this is typical Em “we made you” is him taking shots at celebs and “3am” is typical phsycopathic Slim Shady i do agree about the voice i dont like it but the lyrics, wordplay and flow are all great. Eminem has no bounderies so whatever he does is just him he cant sell out every album he does something new just like thisone.

  • yassa mina
