Wilco are currently streaming their new album, the archly titled Wilco (The Album), on their website after it was apparently leaked to the internet at some point overnight (the official release date is June 30). You can also check out the cover art on this hump day, which would be an appropriate thing to do as it features a camel. On first listen, the collection sounds to me like an improvement on 2006′s fine yet ultimately unmemorable Sky Blue Sky. But check it out for yourselves and tell us what you think.

It’s remarkable. Phenomenal. Easily the best album with the new line-up, and as good as all of their previous albums, if not better. As a longtime Wilco fan, it’s a revelation. It’s perfect.

Argh. Clark! Do you have a high school diploma? Have you taken any courses in English or writing? It appears not. Wilco is a band, which is singular, which takes a singular verb. It’s an it, not a they. Also, you split your verb in the first sentence. And “web site” is two words. This is supposed to be a professional publication written by professional writers. Try harder…

I’m usually a stickler as well, but common usage indicates that “website” is now acceptable, much as “email” is (instead of the older forms “e-mail” and “E-mail”).
Also, you are incorrect; if we’re going by strict usage guidelines, it should be “Web site.”
FAIL.

Sorry Joe, Sky Blue Sky was mediocre at best. I’m a long time Wilco fan, but that album just wasn’t very good in my opinion. You Are My Face is a classic Wilco track, but some of the others (What Light & Shake it Off) were just not very good. This new one is pretty dang good so far. Glad to see them back to the form they have set for themselves. Cheers guys!!!
Sky Blue Sky mediocre? Impossible Germany is one of the greatest songs ever written. Please be patient with me is something McCartney would have sold his ex-wife’s fake leg to get (actually he would have done that for nothing).
A masterpeice! SBS was a great album, but this is even better, beautifully complex arrangements, a classic! This may indeed be their finest album yet. How many bands can do that after six previous ones? Wilco rocks!
