Earlier this week we noted anchorman Brian William’s unlikely quizzing of Deer Tick on his new music-minded msnbc.com web series Bri Tunes. Now Rolling Stone has posted an interview with the NBC news anchor, which you can read here. In the piece Williams recalls how as a teenager he "stalked" a then new musical outfit called Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band and that recently he listened to Jay-Z’s "My First Song" just before hitting the airwaves ("I was tempted to go on and say"Ch’boy!," but I didn’t. It was close.")
Williams also admits that Bri Tunes could seem "incredibly dilettantish." What do you you think? Is it behooving of a news anchor to be cranking up the Hova? And how long before we get to see Jay-Z hosting Meet The Press?
