If you’re going to any of the dates on Coldplay’s current Viva la Vida tour – which starts today in West Palm Beach, Florida, before winding all through the States and ending up back in Tampa on September 9 — you’ll be gifted with the band’s new live album, LeftRightLeftRightLeft, for your trouble.
Or: You could stay right where you are on the couch (cubicle, kitchen floor, bathtub…) and download the whole thing for free just by clicking here. It’s available until the band plays their final show of 2009 — their website currently says that’s September 19 at London’s Wembley Stadium, but who knows.
So tell us, readers: Will you be collecting your physical copy in person at a show this summer? Or keeping it between you and your laptop? In the meantime, I leave you with my own favorite Chris Martin moment– playing himself as a fantastically insufferable rock star ("Gwyneth’s making drumsticks!") on Ricky Gervais’s Extras:

Coldplay can suck it! I don’t want their pretentious, UNORIGIONAL garbage for free!!
Ahhh I will get my copy in less than a week!!!!! Coldplay concert on Thursday!!!
If you are a fan you will like this. I just finished listening to it and they sound awesome live! Dammit I can’t believe I won’t be able to see them! Stupid med school
the link isn’t working. I really hope it stays open for a while, so I can get this. Saw them live last year on Halloween. AWESOME.
One of the worst bands ever.

I prefer a nice band to a troll on the internet. Yay Coldplay!
The link isn’t working on the Billboard.com article either, so its safe to say Coldplay.com either experienced too much web traffic and shut down, or they weren’t prepared…

Lol, it’s free because Coldplay can’t even give it away.
They suck. They USED to be good…but now? not so much
The link worked fine for me, and the live album is quite lovely.
I will be getting my copy in July, but downloaded it just to hear the songs. Fabulous, as ususal. But to the haters, of course they could sell copies if they wanted to–it’s a thank you to the fans, which there are plenty!
I don’t get why some people so vehemently hate Coldplay. I LOVE them because they make amazing music and you can tell they love doing it and are genuine. LRLRL is fantastic–can’t wait to see them here in July!!
i can’t get the link to work either,
it takes me to the next page saying download, but then it asks me to log in.
anyone got a direct link?
thanks
x
They have fixed the link now, Anchorman updated on twitter. I just downloaded it not that long ago. Worth the 2 minutes.
The album is meant as a “thank you to the fans”, so all of you non fans can “suck it” and go on another page, this is not meant for you.
xxx havent heard it…yet
haha that’s freakin hilarious!!! I love Chris Martin!!! He’s sooooo funny! I laughed like crazy!!! Whooo! “We’ll be showing people dying from lack of clean water.” “Can they be holding the album?”
