Sharp-tongued British singer Lily Allen has been on pretty good behavior of late, at least in terms of criticizing her fellow performers. When I spoke to her earlier this year, she even declined to make negative comments about Katy Perry, despite Perry having once described her as a "fatter version of Amy Winehouse." In fact, Allen told me she thought Perry was "just lovely," though she seemed to be doing so through slightly gritted teeth. But this weekend Allen did critique Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle on Twitter. In her "twittique," Allen claimed that Boyle is "so overrated" and later added "yes, she cansing, but it’s not about talent with her is it? she seems like a lovelylady but if its about talent, that Shaheen kid should win."

I agree, Boyle has a decent voice but she isn’t incredible. I think the shock of her looking like a truck driver and actually being able to sing still hasn’t worn off. When you really listen to her, she is very generic and simple, good, but nothing spectacular. Let’s not over inflate her talent just because she is a novelty.
lily was pretty civil about it. and i agree with her, though susan has a great voice, audience is influenced by her background, her story etc. she’s more popular (on youtube) than the actual stage musical singers of les mis, and the pros can sing ‘i dreamed a dream’ far better…why else would that be?

If it’s about talent, then NOBODY on American Idol or Britain’s Got Talent should win anything. I mean, come ON. They are all just a bunch of karaoke formulaic glop performers.
Put it this way: Would The Beatles, or Elton John, or Steely Dan, or The Dave Matthews Band, or any of thousands of other legendary performers have a ghost of a chance of winning if they were on these shows?

Well, there you go. There is clearly something wrong with what ever standard of “talent” these people are being judged by.

Lily Allen criticises everyone for being rubbish – but her music is AWFUL! She can’t sing! I can criticise performers but I’m not going to pretend I’m better than them.
I don’t think Susan Boyle has really had a chance to show what she can do. She’s sung two songs, in a competition, and that’s merely nothing. I don’t think she’s yet to show what she can or cannot do. She’s brave with the whole world watching. I’m rooting her on and want to give her that chance to pull it all together. Maybe Lily’s jealous.

What susan accomplished in america in less than a month , the Beatles never even accomplished. So here now is , Ms Lilly Tramp Allen talking, yo-yo diet queen, cant hide her envy. With all her talent,angelic voice, Susan Boyle still gives us one of those endearing unpresumptious dances whenever she wins. TAHTS WHAT MAKES HER SPECIAL. IF YOU LOVE ANOTHER ACT besides hers, THATS NO REASON TO DISRESPPECT A WOMAN WHO LITERARILY RESPECTS EVERYBODY.
