It’s the time of year when precocious youngsters pose for pictures on their front lawns and fumble with corsages. Yes, it’s prom season, and like most other high-school-related things we remember (or try to forget), there’s a soundtrack attached. All I remember thinking during my prom (besides cursing myself for spending so much money on that damn sparkly dress) was, "Who the hell picked this song?" My Class of 2002′s prom song was "There You’ll Be," a terribly mediocre track (by Faith Hill) from a terribly mediocre movie (Pearl Harbor.) Because nothing says awkward slow dance like reflecting on one of our nation’s great tragedies! Not that I had the highest expectations for that evening, but this was the best they could do? Isn’t there an entire Boyz II Men catalog devoted to this stuff? Maybe we just came of age in the wrong prom-song era, but I know there have got to be some gems out there. So how about it, Music Mixers? Did you sway to KC & JoJo’s "All My Life" or Eve 6′s "Here’s to the Night"? Or did you avoid eye contact throughout Lionel Richie and Diana Ross’ "Endless Love? Share your prom-song hits and misses below.

It’s been four whole days since the diabolically constructed controversy-generating machine that is
“Um, my dog ate my homework. There was a flood… All those excuses.”
Just a year ago, the idea of the four members of Creed agreeing to be in the same room together, let alone making another CD, would have seemed preposterous. The post-grunge rockers enjoyed enormous success with their first three albums, selling 25 million records just in America, but split up five years ago following a tour marred by singer Scott Stapp’s alcohol-fueled misbehavior, which included mangling the lyrics to some of their biggest hits at an infamously poor concert in Chicago.
The White Stripes have always been good at keeping us guessing. Their initial fame was shrouded in "What the frak are they? Brother and sister? Husband and wife?" mystery. Now we’ve just been left wondering, what’s next for the duo?
It’s nearly inevitable at this point that any high-profile album will leak to the Internet at least a week or two before its official release date, so no one should be surprised to hear that Eminem’s Relapse made its way online last night. Interscope managed to keep this thing under wraps until 12 days before its May 19 drop date, which is actually pretty impressive. Anyway, far be it from us at the Music Mix to encourage you to illegally download leaked music, but let’s just say that Relapse is out there for anyone who knows how to use Google.
