Seriously, is this man bionic? He's already got a White Stripes reunion in the wings, the debut from supergroup side project The Dead Weather due in July, and, for all we know, new Raconteurs tracks just spontaneously conjur themselves in his basement while he carpools the kids.
Now, Jack White has announced plans for a possible solo album, which he hopes to start working on in "late 2009." I hope he enjoys his eight-minute daily power nap, because the man clearly can't be wasting any hours on something as dull and unproductive as REM-cycle sleep.
What do you think, Music Mixers? Is all this White magic welcome, or could Jack be a little too nimble, and start diluting his gifts?

when the music stops being awesome, then maybe he is spreading himself too thin..until then…bring it.
The White Stripes are very different than The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, which in turn are very different from each other, so perhaps his solo album will be completely different than all three. Maybe electronica. Maybe a old style jazz and blues. Maybe hip hop. Who knows? But like the earlier poster wrote, so long as it’s all good music, the more the merrier.
LOL, don’t think it will be hip hop but you can bet it will be different.
He is a uniquely talented person. http://www.yuppielovematch.com
Jack White is well on his way to becoming the spiritual heir to Neil Young, yet still very much his own man. He can put out as many albums as he likes, but I’m hoping he puts out more songs as killer as “Black Math” and “Ball and Biscuit”.
There’s no such thing as too much Jack White, given what terrific music he puts out. But yeah, let’s hope he doesn’t end up burning himself out like so many other rockers have done.
I agree with the person who wrote that Black Math (The White Stripes) was a great song; it’s strange that it’s not better known. I’d say the same for Hypnotize and Girl You Have No Faith In Medicine (both also by the White Stripes) and Broken Boy Soldier and Blue Veins and Top Yourself (all by the Raconteurs). Oh and of course Icky Thump was amazing; and The White Stripes cover of the song Conquest — just absofrigginglutely brilliant.
Yeah, there is nothing else like Jack White on this planet right now. I’m thrilled that his spacetime continuum has intersected with ours.
This guy is incredible..everything is good. The Bond song with Alicia Keys was great. The Loretta Lynn album was awesome. But the best of the best in my opinion is the first 2 of the 6 White Stripes CD’s
Jack White is taking the mick out of his fans. The White stripes combined personality is AMAZING. The raconteurs not as good but still fantastic. Dead weathers guitar is awful and it’s missing Jack Whites musical influence. But we haven’t seen any of his best for ages we need White stripes and his solo album won’t go well in my opinion. He’s getting to arrogant.
Jack, I love you. I know you will do great in anything that you do- just don’t make “the deal” as Dylan did…he he he.
I think that Jack is biting off more than he a chew. The music is starting to sound a bit diluted. I think he has a terrible singing voice in The Raconteurs, but sounds awesome in The White Stripes because for some reason it just works. I think he should just stick to the Stripes and possibly solo work. The other bands arent that great.
