Wow, a Jack White fellate-a-thon. This was not good. Raconteurs is much, much better than this.
I think they rock. Truly. What’s great about The Dead Weather IS their blues foundation. Jack White really shines in this genre. But I’m a big blues fan, so I may be biased. I don’t think it’s aimless or noisy, but to each his own.
This is coming from a man who is more partial to the Jonas Brothers. It’s alright, not everyone likes this particular genre of music. Both White and Mosshart are taking risks by experimenting with sounds and reworking the blues. If that scares you, a new Hannah Montana record is probably right around the corner. I guess there really is no accounting for taste, but to think EW.com hired you to rant off opinions that are not well thought out is a testament to the irrelevance of your profession. Maybe EW will hire me also to write pieces that will accompany your “generic brand” of pop music analysis.
Hey Jeremy Medina, if by describing jack white as noisy and aimless meaning, unorthodox, pure clean raw emotion, with each noise completing his overall intentions then your right my friend. i couldn’t agree with you more he is a true musician not selling out to the fades like other shallow individuals. He will always produce classic original pieces with amazing lyrics that will take you on a ride that he fully intended. hey you don’t get this that often so lets enjoy, its not often that a genus can put good music right in our face amongst all this garbage we have been conditioned to think is good. he has never been an musician that stayed far from his hart he will continue making classics regardless if douche bags like Jeremy Medina don’t understand him and thank God!
Saw them in Chg.in July & was completely in awe of Dead Weather. Tv audiences just aren’t their target market. The were powerful, intelligent, loud, sexy, sludgy & dark & THEY ROCKED
I think they’re pretty sick. Check out this live video.
jacks new band is great, not surprising that an online music critic doesn’t like good music…I agree with darren, and I’ll take a double uarter pounder with cheese and fries bia**h,
