Your opinions were all over the place when we posted one week ago about "Say My Name," the new single that Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva co-wrote with her beau, Mel Gibson. "I liked the song, it had feeling and was deep," wrote one commenter. Noted another: "PAINFUL!! YOWLING! Haaaaalp!" Apologies for bringing up such a sensitive topic again so soon, but today we've got to revisit that divisive piece of work — this time in the form of a music video directed by none other than Gibson himself. His moody black-and-white clip for "Say My Name" leaves the spotlight squarely on Grigorieva's wannabe-diva vocals, which I guess could be a good or a bad thing depending on how you like that voice. I happen to find it insanely irritating. Even if you find the song more tolerable than I do, though, why did Gibson give it such a boring video? Let's just say this slow-moving series of by-the-book performance shots is not exactly the man's most memorable work behind the camera.
Then again, I was only able to force myself to watch this clip all the way through once, so perhaps I'm missing some subtle nuances? What’s next, a sex tape? This trainwreck of a relationship is becoming increasingly bizarre! Since the response to last week’s single release was predominately negative you’d think Mel and his people wouldn’t want to give the hordes of Mel and Oksana haters more reason to sound off. Is he mentally ill? How else can one explain his behavior, which seems to be above and beyond a classic mid life crisis!

What a mindbogglingly cheap and insensitive move. Does Mel have any idea how many truly gifted singer/songwriter/musicians are out there that never catch a break? Or did his brain literally melt during his melt-down 3 years ago? Obviously if the woman had the chops she would have made inroads on her own by now. Especially with her networking skills.
Times are tough enough with many people on the bread line facing unsure futures. To promote an album in what must certainly be a fake contract, in a last ditch attempt to explain away a tryst with someone who seems sketchy at best — take a quick look at her history — is like a poorly-timed joke and a real slap in the face to the many deserving artists who are struggling. NO ONE has the right to freeload off someone else’s fame in the best of times.
And no amount of posts of praise from Mel’s family, friends and pr team will change this, not that that’ll stop them from trying.

This video is BEYOND AWFUL.It makes me feel insulted. It is an insult to intelligence and good taste. It is a waste of time! Knowing Mel Gibson’s incredible talent, why oh WHY did he descend so low??? It boggles the mind.

Oh mercy me, I started to laugh because it was so pathetic. I feel sorry for his children, imagine having a middle age father who is making music videos for his pregnant mistress.
