TMZ has posted a previously unreleased Michael Jackson track called “A Place With No Name.” The song is remarkably similar to the 1972 America hit “A Horse With No Name.” According to TMZ, the band gave their blessing to Jackson’s revamp. There is no information at present about when the song was recorded.
Do you like the track? When do you think Jackson recorded it? And how does it compare to “A Horse With No Name”, which you can hear below?

Now I’m no expert, but that definitely sounds like an outtake from “Bad” or “Dangerous”, most likely “Bad” because it has a late ’80s rhythm like “The Way You Make Me Feel”. A couple seconds is not much to go by, but it sounds like a better filler track than the average current artist could muster.
The song is pretty good! Like the vocals on it!
BUT…
If you think that’s good, check out my MJ tribute song, “Second 2 None!” It’s an uptempo song featuruing Michael Jackson on the chorus AND samples his 1991 hit, “Black or White!”

The Jacksons love America.
Even Janet used the intro of America’s “Ventura Highway” on her song “Someone to Call my Lover”.
Ooo I do like that. Not so much the individual quality of the song – it’s hard to judge from such a short segment anyway. It’s just nice to hear Jackson’s smooth vocals really.
Oh and I agree with Just Saying. It sounds 80s to me.
Actually, having listened to it again, I’m wondering if the backing vocals and production values make it sound a bit more ‘Rock My World’ era…ick I don’t know enough about these things to judge.
loving it! i would love to hear the full song.
i am a huge MJ fan… his voice sound recent… as in 2001 and up…. i wouldn’t be suprised if this is an unreleased track from the rumored album he was working on in 2003…
Definitely sounds like a recording from “Invincible” to me. The background singers give it away
certainly is a track from the 2000′s. his voice has that deeper smoothness to it that is all over the “invincible” album (my fav. MJ album) but yeah.
Sounds like just about everything he did. I’m sure if would have been a hit had it been released. I’m sure the guys from America hope it gets released so they can pick up some spare change!

Clearly a rip-off. The King of Pop has really fizzled…
Loved it!
Extremely weak compared to the original. Don’t people actually write good songs anymore? It seems like artists are content with ripping off or sampling classic tunes. What a waste of talent and the public’s time!
Micheal was more of a studio rat than
Tupac. Expect new material in the future.
Big deal. Go to YouTube and type in “Michael Jackson unreleased track” and a ton of unreleased songs pop up. There are much better ones than this one.
