Suffering from "Boom Boom Pow" fatigue? Wishing the insanely omnipresent Lady Gaga was Lady Gone-Gone from the airwaves? The Music Mix has the answer for those looking to update their playlists. Stream one new song of summer below, plus nine more after the jump. –Leah Greenblatt and Simon Vozick-Levinson
Florence andthe Machine, "Kiss With a Fist"
Brit import Florence comes off like a saucy love child of the Ting Tings and the White Stripes on this punchy guitar anthem from her new full-length U.S. debut, Lungs.
Jay-Z, "D.O.A. (Deathof Auto-Tune)"
You may not agree with Hov's list of grievances against the ubiquitous vocal effect, but there's no denying the head-knocking beat backing him up.
Spoon, "Got Nuffin"
Austin's indie overlords recently released a three-track EP teaser, and this thumping rocker is definitely the best of the bunch.
Vistoso Bosses, "Delirious"
Their name sounds fairly menacing, but in fact the Bosses are two young women from Atlanta with a knack for crafting lighter-than-air pop hooks. One listen and you’ll be feeling delightfully dizzy yourself.
Jeremih, "That Body"
It employs almost the same melodic turns and lyrical themes as his smash "Birthday Sex." So what? They're just as catchy the second time around.
Basement Jaxx, "Raindrops"
The world’s wildest house duo — whose last album came out in '06 — makes up for lost time with an over-the-top comeback single.
Wilco, "I'll Fight"
Big beats and bigger choruses are all well and good, but every BBQ needs mellower numbers, too. Try this standout from the retro-rockers' latest.
Miike Snow, "Animal"
The Swedish production team Bloodshy and Avant (they've made hits for Britney) unleash a disc ofcrystalline synth-pop jams; this dancehall-flecked tingler startsit off with a bang.
Discovery, "Osaka Loop Line"
The indie superduo — Vampire Weekend keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot frontman Wesley Miles — kicks out the electro boogaloo.
Jay Reatard, "Wounded"
His name is all wrong. But this extra-melodic garage-punk nuggetis so right — it practically comes with its own built-in trampoline!

So glad you included Florence & the Machine. I wonder if she’ll break in the US
Another one surprised and happy to see Florence and the Machine on here. That album is amazing. Rabbit Heart gets stuck in my head constantly.
Your credibility took a serious blow with the inclusion of anything by jeremih.
Glad to see Discovery included, although I’d rather listen to “Orange Shirt” or “So Insane.”
its a shame there are so very few good radio stations anymore. If you have sirius you could probably hear most of these songs but if you live in NY you have pop, dance, urban and essentially nothing else. our ‘alternative’ station went pop (which sucked anyway) and everything else is lite or oldies
Love Florence + The Machine!
If you like British pop/dance – I would also recommend Sophie Ellis Bextor feat. the Freemasons “Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)” or nearly anything by SEB incl. “Murder on the Dance Floor” from abt. 2 years ago! Check it out, hope you like it and thanks for the recs!
Cascada is refreshing my Summer 09 with their new song, “Evacuate the Dancefloor” — perfect song to blast on a hot summer afternoon (like we’ve had one here in the Northeast…)
I know I posted the Vistoso Bosses tune on a Music Mix post blog as a recommendation sometime back in the winter, but gotta say, even with a now a version featuring Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em I really thought “Delirious” woulda been a huge summer smash in the vein of the Ghost Town Dj’s “My Boo” from 15 yrs. prior, but alas, I guess radio programmers truly don’t wnana take risks any more. Beb – Nice pick on the Freemasons Feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor…Love anything the Freemasons touch, but its such a great song with a awesome pop hook! I could name a few things but my absolute fave jam right now is the Diplo/Switch electro-reggae project Major Lazer. The entire album “Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do” shoulda been huge, but the song they gave away on iTunes the 2nd week of June, Featuring Nina Sky & Ricky Blaze “Keep It Goin’ Louder” is a SUMMER ANTHEM. Shoulda been as big as Nina Sky’s “Move Ya Body”, but again no radio programmers go out & break new acts anymore. So sad. Go buy this tune!
Oh and since I can’t resist:
Steel Panther “Community Property” – FUNNIEST TUNE I’VE HEAD ALL YEAR. This band deserves its own ENTIRE Music Mix post! STAT!
Vogue In The Movement “Fire On The Dancefloor”
And Westlife (Irish boyband! Back on US iTunes Store!!!) covering the Michael Buble tune! Includes a Soul Seekerz Club Mix too!
ENJOY!!!
May I recommend Shakira’s “She Wolf” ?
By the third time I listened to the song I became an addict. Believe me, it’s a very, very good tune.
Summer, Murder on the Dancefloor is from 8-9 years ago, not 2! But yes, Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) is one of the best songs of this summer.
Excited to see Discovery included, but would rather listen to “So insane,” “Swing Tree,” or their excellent cover of the Jackson 5′s “I want you back.” The whole album is catchy and danceable.
I love the Vistoso Bosses! there song is so great, and so different. I’m so sorry other people aren’t noticing it. To vote it on BET’s 106 and park go to the website
