Michael Jackson: new remix album due this fall

Filed under: News and tagged: ,

Speculation continues to mount as to whether we’ll ever hear the vast collection of unreleased music that the late Michael Jackson reportedly left behind. In the meantime, fans can look forward to some (more or less) new MJ music sooner than they might think: Universal Motown is preparing to release Michael Jackson: The Remix Suite this fall. Star producers including the Neptunes, Polow Da Don, Stargate, Ryan Leslie, Q-Tip, Salaam Remi, and more are set to rework Jackson’s hits for the album, mostly drawing from his Jackson 5 years. And while the full project won’t be on sale til Oct. 27, many of the remixes will be released digitally in the even nearer future.

Listen to the Neptunes’ recently-leaked take on “Never Can Say Goodbye” below, then let us know: What do you think of this project? Whose remixes are you most looking forward to?

Ooh yay. Another “new” album of remixes released after the artist dies. Let’s hope this is nowhere as bad as what remixers did to Johnny Cash. Mr. Cash must have been rolling in his grave.

I completely agree. It’s unfortunate that these legends die, and then corporations have to capitalize on their deaths in this fashion. It’s one thing to let people hear his unreleased music after he dies, it’s another thing entirely to RE-release music that’s after his death. This is just sad.

I like the Neptunes. I love Michael Jackson’s music. That said, this sounds awful. Can we sign a petition trying to halt the release of this monstrosity?

Not my favorite, but I am curious to see what else has been done on the album. I’ll think seriously about buying it.

I LOOOOOOOVE MIKE!!! But this sucks. People need to just leave his music AS IS! I would love to buy an album with unreleased tracks, but with no touch ups. Even if it’s a demo. I’m sure it’d be better than some of the crap these folks will come up with. I DO NOT want to hear T-Pain putting auto-tune to MJ’s voice!!! LOL :-)

The best remix album that Michael Jackson has released was “Blood On The Dance Floor” History In The Mix. It’s got so many different mixes 7″, 12″ and some cool remixes. Note: It is the best selling remix album in history! I have a copy.

I’m looking forward to all of the music! It’s m.j. so why wouldn’t people be excited?
