I have to disagree. I do not listen to much Leona Lewis but I love “Happy”. Sure, her vocals are pretty amazing and she can sing high as hell while in tune. Probably Christina could have put more emotional depth into singing it but damn, it’s those lyrics that really got me.
I’m going through tough times right now and reached a crossroad in my life, not knowing the right path to take that leads me to happiness. The song may have meant something totally different to the writers but for me I feel like it could be the theme song to my life at this moment.
Many mainstream songs just don’t seem to have deep meaning behind them. This does. So give the girl a break. She sings better than 90% of all the current mainstream singers and this song isn’t talking about some G6 jet plane or brushing your teeth with whiskey. She didn’t fall into the overated trend of using auto tune either.
It’s a beautiful song in everyway.
Excellent work over again! Thumbs up!
