One of the best bands of the last 10 years. I am glad to see that they have evolved and are not doing cookie cutter music.

    • Phabio

This is so true. TH has progressed from an amateur teen-pop band into a mature rock band with a strong and versatile sound. I’m proud to be a fan and I can’t wait to hear Humanoid.

      • Mari

        Oh Puh-leez!
        Mature Rock Band?
        No, I dont think so.
Most of the songs on the album sound like Cinema Bizzare (I listened to leaked samples of the whole thing. I liked 8 out of 12 songs)! Yeah, they have evolved. They evolved from a Rock/Pop band to a completely Pop band, reeeaaalllyyy close to Techno.

And no, I’m not a TH hater. I am/was a fan. I still like them but I’d rather listen to Breaking Benjamin or Flyleaf
(BTW, EW you should get an article about both of those bands dropping their new album soon. Plz)

      • Phabio

I haven’t listened to the snippets, only Automatic/Automatisch and Humanoid, but from what I hear, they are still a rock band. Their music has a very rock foundation and they used electronic type effects to enhance the music, but I would never say that it’s straight pop and definitely not techno. Automatic might be pop-rock, but it’s still rock nonetheless, and I didn’t hear any pop in Humanoid at all. If it’s not your style of music, that’s another thing, but I do think TH is definitely still rock. No matter how they alter their sound, like I said, rock is the foundation.

Tokio Hotel is definetely on of the best bands of the last 10 years.

  • Madre

It’s the combination of twincest, squee, and sparkles.

    • Gomorrha

Oh definitely!! Glad someone mentioned it <3

    • Quill

Twincest– good grief. Way to blow things out of porportion.

      • Madre

There’s nothing wrong with platonic twincest and playing footsie.

      • Phabio

I have butt in to say that if it’s platonic, it’s not twincest at all. But in either case, I must admit that there’s little tact in mentioning such a thing on an article about the boys. I think you meant to say ‘brotherly love’.

    • Mari

      die

  • rarrkun

… TWILIGHT. *brain bleach* I’m gonna pretend Bill never said that.

The twins are really sweet :) I’d love to hear Tom rapping, hahaha. I’m really looking forward to Humanoid, from the snippets we’ve heard, I think it’s going to be awesome! Plus Automatic/Automatisch is a really catch single.

And I’d love to see them featured on EW too!

  • MusicMan

These guys are very impressive and are amazing to watch, especially since they speek and sing in german and english!

  • Madre

If he saw Twilight on the plane he didn’t really catch all of it anyway. Or he didn’t really catch how bad it is.

    • Raine

      You are so right.

    • Melissa

Thankyou! I don’t understand why people are obsessing over the movie, it’s really bad. However the books are great.

    • Harmonie

Or he lied to be nice.I hope he didn’t mean it. I’d have to smack him. I mean, with how he say’s he likes vampires, you’d think he’d be appalled at how inaccurate it is at portraying them

      • sweetascAndie

i was thinking that he might have lied since it IS an interview…but then again, Bill & Tom have been known to express their true opinions no matter what. X)

      • Michelle

I think calling it ‘inaccurate’ is just small minded. There are a few variations from typical vampire lore, but they are MADE UP. Who says mythical creatures have to be set in a mold?

  • Lizzie

thank you so much for this article! I believe that TOKIO HOTEL has what it takes to be in the music business for a VERY long time. TOKIO HOTEL ROCKS!

  • Hayley

I love Tokio Hotel, thanks so much for this interview, there great.
