Weezer reveals 'Raditude' cover art: The quick brown dog jumps over the hiding cat

I’m pretty sure the fine gentlemen of Weezer just won themselves a spot on my album covers of the year list. Behold the image that will grace Oct. 27’s Raditude, to your left (spotted via Idolator). Is that or is that not the greatest LOLcat/dog combo you have seen today? (Spoiler: The cat is hiding in the lower left-hand quadrant of the cover, in case you don’t immediately see it.)

According to a post on Spinner.com, Weezer mastermind Rivers Cuomo found this pic while flipping through the pages of National Geographic, which apparently publishes adorable photographs of dogs leaping across suburban living rooms now. Also, the dog’s name is Sidney.

Aren’t you glad you know that? Register your thoughts on this striking image in the comments, below.

i’m wondering why one of the best rock bands in recent memory – Nine Inch Nails – just ended as a touring act, and there is nary a mention of it in EW. Too busy covering the latest TRUE BLOOD and TWILIGHT bullsh*t to care I suppose…

Good point, Psycho. EW may not be SPIN or ROLLING STONE, but this is a fairly big deal. NIN has been a popular live act for 20 odd years, putting on blistering intense shows. (Of which I’ve seen several). Instead of asking dopey questions like who is our guilty pleasure – Journey or Styx? – how about some REAL music coverage for a change?

    I CAN HAZ GRAMMY?!

Seriously though, I heard the single. Sucks! You still suck Rivers! You’ll never get back to the genius of Pinkerton or the blue album!! You’re just not that good anymore! And guess what, those chicks are still dead!

From your friend(s) at National Geographic: this photo was uploaded to our photo sharing community at http://www.nationalgeographic.com/yourshot. Remember that adorable squirrel crasher from Banff a few weeks ago? He got his start on Your Shot as well (http://bit.ly/19EfKF). Each month the National Geographic magazine editors and the YourShot community at large pick two images from the user submissions, and they are published in the magazine. This photo appeared in the August 2009 issue. The squirrel will appear in the November issue. And since I’m here, shameless plug for you to get all your National Geographic Society News on Twitter @NatGeoScoop, and go see Amreeka in NY & LA.
