Kanye West apologizes to Taylor Swift, again: 'I feel like Ben Stiller in "Meet the Parents"'

It’s deja vu all over again for Kanye West, who has just apologized a second time for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. Perhaps sensing that his first, all-caps apology didn’t go over well in all quarters, the star stuck to a few brief, conventionally capitalized sentences this time. “I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave,” West wrote on his official blog. “That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.”

Now that’s an apology. What do you say? Is Kanye’s latest “sorry” enough, or do you want another round? If nothing else, I hope we can all agree that Meet the Parents is a hilarious movie.

Wow, Kanye can recycle one of HIS OWN rap lines into an apology.

    Bravo, gay fish, Bravo.

    • The Truth

Kanye West doesn’t care about white people.

      • Via

LOL! That should be Taylor Swift’s official response on ‘The View’ tomorrow.

      • Jay

I don’t think he can change anybody’s mind that thought he was a jerk already. His behavior last night surprised none of his detractors–on the contrary, it alienated fans who had stuck by him that far. Maybe this apology will win some of his fans back that were on the fence, but the rest of us will be able to see that this apology is not coming out of a true sense of remorse, but a sneaking realization that everyone is still mad at him, and the need to reverse that.

I don’t think it’s a matter of white and black. Kanye West is just a complete jerk, if anyone didn’t already know that well now they do. I think Kanye West did enough to show his hate for everyone except himself, because he certainly did nothing but embarass beyonce and take away her momement for best video when she so graciously gave the mic back to Taylor.

shut ur mouth…. unless u’ve never messed up keep ur opinions to urself… Ye is a great entertainer who always under the microscope of the media and he slipped up… He apoligized so get over it.

    • Monn

I still don’t get it… why is he a gay fish?

      • k

      • pizzle fo shizzle

K, thats the joke. This is what you need to do.
        1.Watch the episode again
        2.Read Monn’s comment again
3.If you still don’t get it – hit head with hammer.

Kanye West should be raped for this.

Kanye West’s apology will not erase his heinous behavior or improve his public image. Taylor Swift, the dignified, talented and tremendously beautiful young lady remains the winner in every one’s mind.

    • C

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

    • Monn

what’s beauty got to do, got to do with it, what’s beauty but a superficial perception!

  • loop

    he’s still an ass.

  • better.

Better. but I still don’t think it’s good enough to make up for ruining that moment for her.

    • Amanda

Agreed. And he should’ve gotten the apology right the first time.

  • hanny Pay

Maybe he should apologize a third time tonight on Jay Leno’s show, haha

  • Zeus

I didn’t hear the rest of the apology… “and I’ll never do anything like that again! I promise!”

  • Guy

I do enjoy meet the parents

  • razor

I think a permanent ban on any nominations for Mr. West should do the trick.

    • bunker

    • Nerwen Aldarion

I second that and extend it to a ban on any music award shows since this is not the first time he’s interrupted people’s acceptance speeches. He simply shouldn’t be allowed to come if he can’t sit down and shut up.

      • Jess

        Hear, hear!

      • BP

I also nominate banning the phrase “deja vu all over again”. Deja vu MEANS “all over again”.

    • BadDay

will never happen – awards shows thrive on controversy.

    • xjUANRoar

i don’t think he should be banned from award shows i mean that’s taking it a lil far now. I love Taylor Swift & my mouth dropped when he did that & i feel soo bad for her but come one he apologized. People may not think that its sincere but you don’t really know until you actually think about.

I’m still trying to decide if this is all a publicity stunt, the purpose being either to drum up ratings for the VMA’s or Jay Leno’s new show (Kanye is his guest tonight), or both, or even to promote Kanye himself (although it wasn’t very thought out if this was the motive because it made him look like a jerk–but maybe he’s cultivating that bad-boy image?). The alternative is that Kanye is so full of himself that he thinks the world is entitled to his opinion, no matter how inappropriate the forum, and even though no one really cares what he thinks. In other words, another self-centered, holier-than-thou “artist.” Anyone else want to weigh in?

    • Tiffany

Um, it seems like most celebrities think the world is entitled to their opinion anyway. Remember Tom Cruise?

    • donna

B Ro, I thought about that as well, maybe this is to give him more of a tough guy (gang member) image. But here is the problem with that, when you take Snoop, Dre or Eminem, they may make fun of or mock others but they never stoop to this level of ugly. What they do, they do for money and to get in the headlines. When Em did his MTV thing, he was the butt of the joke, not a 19 year old girl.
These guys may mock or make fun of others but they never stoop to this level.

I have been a Kanye fan for years. I love his music and have had it on my Ipod for as long as I have had and Ipod. Sadly, now I am going to delete it. I still like his music but I cant support that sort of behavior. A grown man doing that to a little girl is just to much. It was funny when he was chastising MTV or other companies, just Kanye being Kanye. This is a little different.

Do I think he is sorry. Probably. But I dont think he is sorry for what he did, only for the reaction from the general public that it has caused.

I dont think he is a bad person but I do think he needs some mental help. He has lost touch with reality and with others. He has become codependant on alcohol. He needs help or his career will be gone.

      • B Ro

        Very true Tiffany.
Perhaps my first theory was right, I see VMA ratings were highest in a few years.
And Donna, I wouldn’t be at all shocked if we hear he’s going into rehab.

  • Ben

I would be far more likely to accept his apology if this type of disgustingly narcissistic, offensive and rude behavior wasn’t part of a long history of similar occurrences. I’ll forgive him as when he shows over a period of time that he’s capable of acting like an adult.

  • gotaylor

i agree with katy perry’s tweet last night…it was like stepping on a kitten.
he was rude, mean and cruel to a very nice and talented girl.

  • Carmen

Sorry Kayne the loser stamp is still on your forehead just like Drew in Never Been Kissed.

    • Nerwen Aldarion

LOL thanks for that comment, good memories!

  • Nerwen Aldarion

Better but nothing will make up for the crappy way he treated Taylor at the awards. It’ll take a lot more than a second apology to get people to forget about his narcissitic rant on TV!

Meet the Parents is still a good movie though!

  • Robert Johnson

What he did was just stunningly awful. I just don’t buy the apology.

  • enrique

he just wants publicity cause his songs r not good enough….
