Whitney Houston on 'Oprah': What do you think so far?

The Oprah Winfrey Show‘s 24th season is premiering as we speak with the first part of Oprah’s highly-touted exclusive interview with Whitney Houston. It’s the first time the singer has given such a major interview since her infamous 2002 sit-down with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

Lord knows she’s got a lot to talk about this time. “No topic is off-limits,” Oprah has promised. We should start seeing how that works out in a matter of minutes.

Are you tuning in? What do you think of their interview so far? Let us know in the comments below.

I thought she was going to be honest. This is just more cover up lies to make her look better. She smoked crack. Why cant she admit that? I would have more respect for her if she would just come clean.

    • Lady

How do you know she smoked crack was you there?

      • Angelia Pasternak

No one goes through thousands of dollars of cocaine by lacing it in marijuana. You can not smoke that much by just sprinkling it on a joint. That would be impossible. Thats all Im saying…

      • nessa

Apparently Angelia doesn’t know anything about drugs. You don’t have to use them to be educated. Whitney said she smoked rock cocaine in a marijuana joint. She’s admitting to smoking crack (just not smoking it in a pipe). What do you think ROCK COCAINE IS?

    • Unknown86

I hate when people say – “oh, i know she smoked crack, why doesn’t she admit that..” How da hell do you know???!!! – Were you smoking together with her?! – She admitted to using more than one drug, but it simply wasn’t crack – and i believe it!

    • Quanda

Yes, I want to know: were you there smoking with her? Is that how you got this first hand knowledge. Just asking!! I just want people to speak to what they KNOW!!!

  • orodrigu

have you even seen the whole interview. Oprah said that Whitney doesn’t blame Bobby for her durg addiction, but takes full responsibility for her actions.

  • Antoinette

Its sad that after all shes been through she still cant be honest with herself or God.She wasnt forced to do this interview she needs alot of help.

  • Richard Steiner

Oprah has no perspective if she thinks this is ber best interview. All her questions are leading questions to make it appear Whitney is a victim of a controlling, jealous husband.

    Give me a break!

    • Al-B

      I agree 100%!!

  • stephan

13 years and it is all his fault come on it takes 2 and she knew what his deal was dont blame it all on him it take 2

  • christa hillhouse

i think that she probably freebased cocaine – which is a little bit different than smoking crack – and so that allows her to deny crack without seeming guilty. regardless, i can’t imagine her admitting it. richard pryor did, but he was able to incorporate it into his art … and it just doesn’t seem like whitney is that kind of performer. she would have to switch genre’s first, although she’d have many to choose from: jazz, rock, hip-hop, rap artists all easily incorporate past ills into their music. maybe she should leave pop behind and go a different direction.

  • whitsupporter

WOW. Not one positive comment. Whitney has NEVER been this open. She was poised, not defensive, and forthcoming, completely opposite of her Diane Sawyer interview. Did you people actually WATCH the interview. Whitney…thank GOD you got away from him and got your life back together. ANY woman who has been in her situation can relate.

    • Permen

LOL!!! I love these! I also love to see what Google auto-populates when it tries to guess what I am scineharg for. So hilarious!

  • Marty

I think it is a great interview so far. I expect the best is being saved for tomorrow.

  • Tami

Unfortunately, I was not able to view Whitney’s interview, which I was really looking forward to watching. Tennis was on instead. Will this air again I wonder.

    • jbaumsquad

Tami I am sure you can see it on Oprah.com if you missed it. They usually have a rebroadcast during show hiatus throughout the year as well. Worth a look I think, she seemed pretty honest.

  • Nae

All these judges posting on here. God is the ultimate judge, If he can forgive and renew, who are we. Look in the mirror and then your closet. Tell us what you find

  • Christain Delivered

If not by the grace of God, there go I… God has some more work to do before Whitney can go to the next grade. A lesson not learned is repeated. I am a college educated Christian and a recovering addict (as the world would call me), delivered by God. Whitney is not giving any addict, recovering addict or Christian any help by wearing the “I just did coke and weed mask”. YOU SMOKED CRACK. Integrity with self is missing. Rock cocaine is crack. You can not beautify, glamorize or minimize the results and lifestyle of crack addiction. IT IS UGLY! If you do, that crack demon will regroup and gain strength (When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house [Whitney] whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Luke 11:24-26) The crack spirit will return and attack your damaged deformed desires, the wants of your flesh. I would have more respect for you and your music if you would have told some real crack stories…I know you have them. Crack parallelizes your will and you do whatever the flesh wants ie. sex, men, woman both…It will make you forget or postpone picking your kids up from school. My sincere prayers for Whitney are that God protects her and she wakes up before the state of reprobation. I am praying for Whitney.

    • wakeforce

When you start with all the God stuff, that’s when most folks skip to the next posting, just so you know, This is an entertainment site, not Bible class!

      • T Jones

Not everybody wakeforce!!!!! To (Christian Delivered) Continue to express your self, your way as a individual. You could be helping someone.

    • Mzrev

To “Christian Delivered”, you’re right on target. I thought the interview is going very well. Oprah’s asking some hard questions and Whitney’s answering them. But, I did get the feeling she was “downplaying” her “drug of choice”. Like you said, crack is crack. It is what it is. In order to fully recover, one has to be completely honest.

    • nessa

If her testimony wasn’t for you then it wasn’t for you. Who are we to critique someone’s testimony to make it more befitting for us? The good news is that while people are judging her interview someone somewhere is being blessed, delivered and/or changing their life wihout having all the explicit details about the behavior associated with crack addiction.
