Since LL Cool J was mentioned as a possible inductee, what about Salt-N-Pepa, they were groundbreaking and pioneering as far as females in the rap game. I also think Grace Jones, for being cutting edge and out the box. She may not have had any big hits. A female David Bowie if you will.

Alice Cooper yes, What about an artist with over 80 million albums sold and his album the 3rd biggest selling album of all time behind Thriller and AC DC’s”Back in Black”
    Meat Loaf

When will The Miracles finally get recognized??? The RRHOF has honored Smokey Robinson, so what about The Miracles??? Smokey got his start and most of his hits when he was with The Miracles!!!!

I’m with some other comments here…I fully believe that Styx, Heart, Journey, Chicago, Hall & Oates, and Pat Benatar should be inducted. They have all had illustrious careers for over 3 decades, still continue to tour and play before thousands, and have earned new generations of fans. Being inducted would be a most deserving cap for their careers. What do we have to do to get them nominated??

I really hope KISS gets iducted this year. This are very influential band. I don’t know about Kanye west. I agree with the rest though.

Where’s SRV, Rush, Joan Jett, Styx, Heart and Cheap Trick?

I wonder how the ballot nominees are selected. Is that by a vote of all members or is that done by some bunch of suits?

I also wonder why they stopped putting up to 8 bands in a year.

My ten that aren’t included this year but should be:

    MC5
    Alice Cooper
    New York Dolls
    Deep Purple
    Bad Company
    The Runaways
    Pantera
    Stevie Ray Vaughan
    George Thorogood
    Tom Waits

You know, it really amazes me how this “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” will consider inducting Kiss, a band who cared more about shagging anything that looked remotely alive and T-shirt sales than actual critical acclaim, and a rapper…yes, a rapper, before The Smiths or Pixies who have had about 10 times the influence on other subsequent artists as Kiss or LL Cool J. It stuns me. Two bands that cared about their music and there fans and who’s influence has endured and spawned many other artists are just shoved aside for a gangsta and some cocky playboys.

everybody saying rush should be in is right. they are influential and amazing musicians and have had some exposure after the past couple of years. and not just 2112 and moving pictures…new rush is reason enough for a nomination. theyve been eligible for ten years, i say they should be in.

Kiss should of been inducted years ago! LIke ‘em or hate ‘em you can’t ignore the FACTS: Record attendance sell outs (sell out shows in the thousands!), number of album sales, the many great artists that credit Kiss for wanting to be in rock! The Hall should be ashamed for not having Kiss already in it!

Hall and Oates… four platinum albums, two double platinums, five gold records, and six number one singles.
