Patsy Cline, Kings of Leon and Alanis Morissette? Kelly Clarkson can take them all on– and she did last night for a packed house at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
In addition to a soaring stomp through the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” the Black Keys’ “Lies,” and Cline’s classic “Walking After Midnight,” Clarkson also segued Alanis’s “That I Would Be Good” into KoL’s “Use Somebody.” Watch it below:
Kings fans, if you’re keeping track, that’s a whole lot of famous-person tributes to “Use.” So who does it best — Paramore? Nickelback? Tyler Hilton? Bat for Lashes? Pixie Lott? Or a special KoL exception for Sugarland’s “Sex on Fire”?

I saw her about a month ago in Michigan and her Patsy Cline cover gave us all chills. It was fantastic. Say whatever you want about Kelly Clarkson, but the girl can sing.

As for Sugarland I never forgave them for covering Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable”. That was a hot mess!! So I can only imagine “Sex on Fire”

I always thought Bat For Lashes was my fav KoL cover, but Tyler Hilton might have just won me over. On a related note, I saw KoL in concert a few nights ago and they gave an amazing performance (for two hours!). They had to practically drag Caleb off the stage. Those southern Pentecostal boys took me to church and I haven’t come down yet.
