Ryan Tedder, the diva whisperer (he co-wrote Leona Lewis’s “Bleeding Love,” Jordin Sparks’ “Battlefield,” Beyonce’s “Halo,”and Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone” in the last year alone) has returned to his day job as frontman for Colorado pop-rockers OneRepublic, whose sophomore album, Waking Up, is due in stores November 17.
The record’s first single, “All the Right Moves,” hasn’t exactly set the world on fire. So what do you think of their second attempt? Seems to walk the “Apologize” synthy-fist-pump power-ballad line pretty well (Bonus points if you recognize dimple-chinned German actor Til Schweiger, most recently of Inglorious Basterds)

Mid tempo ballads do extremley well, and this has re-mix potential written all over it too. Top 10 by Thanksgiving wknd. Trust.
Love it. Ever since I saw them live I’ve been jonesing for more! This is a great song, it sounds like them, and I think it’ll do well.
Yesterday, they played OneRepublic’s All The Right Moves after Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone on the radio. The same similar midtempo ballads grooves that Ryan Tedder did for Clarkson and his own band, yet they’re both solid pop numbers. He also did a similar thing for Kristinia DeBarge’s song Speak Up. And he made a great record with Jordin Sparks’ Battlefield! As well as Beyonce’s Halo. OneRepublic’s last album came out in November 2007–this new 2009 album is coming out at nearly the same month/date as the last album! So they’re planning on seeing if they can strike twice with another album hit!
Why can’t he write a decent song for himself. His [their] last three singles have sucked.
Much better! When I heard “All the Right Moves” a couple weeks ago, I was a little worried about this new album, but I think this song is great! November 17th can’t come soon enough!
love the song, but i need help with the beginning. the violin part in the very beginning sounds exactly like something else, either a some song from a movie trailer or something!! anyone know?
i did not understand the story either, why did they guy punch the other guy and what in the world was going on with all those kids!!
It’s a pretty good pop song and an interesting enough video, but I prefer “All the Right Moves”. I thought it was a lot catchier and I’m surprised it’s not a bigger hit.
