Chris Brown: Do you appreciate his 'Fan Appreciation' tour?

chris-brown_lYesterday, Chris Brown announced that he will embark on a month long “Fan Appreciation” tour of small venues as a way of saying thank you to his followers in the months following his attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna. The singer also appeared on Angie Martinez’s Hot 97 radio show and admitted that his behavior was “not okay in any way” and that he had “let a lot of people down,” including his fans.

Apparently, it will take more than that before he is forgiven by a lot of EW commenters. After we wrote about the tour, which starts in Houston on November 14, one reader hypothesized that the singer’s reputation was so damaged that this was really just a way of covering up the fact that he can now only play small venues. Another found the timing of the announcement to be “interesting.” given that Rihanna also previewed her new single this week. Finally there were a couple of suggestions about possible slogans Brown might feature on his tour t-shirts, which I don’t care to repeat.

Do you agree that Brown should have waited longer before trying to get his career back on track? Or is he right to go on tour as a way of thanking his fans, many of whom are indeed highly supportive?

People make mistakes. And no one knows what truely happened that nigth but him and Rhianna. People need to stop believing what they read in tabloids and mind their own business. IF you enjoy the music, go..if you don’t…don’t. But stop all this he’s a beater crap. You don’t know that.

‘Cause his guilty plea and the sentencing report and the photo of Rihanna from that night where her face is bloody and swollen aren’t enough to make a decision about what likely happened.

I hope the tour comes 2 a city near me! Even though I don’t condone his actions, I still love his music! & Everyone makes mistakes!

I’d appreciate Chris Brown more if he’d go away for a couple of years and do his anger management classes and community labor and try to figure out why he’s so angry and how to stop it. He’s just acting like I did it once but I’ll never do it again. Thats not how it usually goes. He dosen’t need the money and he dosen’t need to be making music right now.

He’s the biggest D. Bag on earth. I can’t believe any female would drop a dime on anything involving him. Get some pride ladies!

I’m assuming most people commenting on an EW site like myself are too old to be going to his concerts. So I think your conclusion are off and he will be fine. As a market researcher I would challenge that your conclusions are biased and faulty!

I think it’s very interesting how celebrities are given such priviledges. I can’t imagine how I would feel if my mother, aunt, or sister got physically abused. People tend to forget that Rihanna is somebody’s daughter and sister. Can you imagine how her family must have felt? It is not acceptable to tolerate such behavior. Values and morals today in society have went astray. You say he’s human and we all make mistakes…then don’t treat him differently. Be honest and think if that were to happen to you…or your loved ones…how easily can you forgive him? There are mistakes that people make and become better beings from it. There are also mistakes that people make…that they cannot come back from. When somebody you love abuses you and threatens your very life….your soul becomes broken. Only kids are naive to think that people who commit domestic violence crimes can be just casually forgiven like shoplifting. Domestic violence is a very serious matter…as the same for rape and murder. Domestic violence and rape are shunned in society for a reason…they kill the human spirit.

Honestly we are all humans and we all make mistakes. It takes a lot of courage for him to come back out like he is.I know he is ashame of what happen and he as realize that it cannot be swept under the rug.So the best way to deal with it is to deal with the public live life and know that he will forever needs us to forgive him.But at the same time we are not perfect so who are we to judge.

This is a teenager were talking about! GIVE HIM A BREAK! its almost a year later, how many times must people demand his apology and then hate him after he delivers exactly what they asked for…I SIMPLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE CAN SOMEHOW JUSTIFY THEMSELVES AS GOD, THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO PLACE JUDGEMENT. Personally i believe that Chris Brown only owed an apology to God and Rihanna…NOT TO THE PUBLIC…lets stop being hypocrits and get on with our lives as im sure rihanna and chris have..
