I was so looking forward to his single and I have to say, I am dissappointed. Anyone can sing this song. Adam I want to hear your awesome range and the emotion behind it.

  • crispy

It’s way over-produced. But I still like it. And why the hell is that picture not the album cover?!

    • Phil

Whoever posted the track on YouTube obv. either disliked the heinous album cover or just didn’t have access to the artwork, like they did the song, when they created the post on the site.

      • Jennifer

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s the legitimate cover for the single.

      • crispy

That’s what I figured too. When the album comes out, I’m replacing the awful Trapper Keeper cover with this pic in my itunes folder.

      • lilyx

The picture on the utube is a BRAND NEW pic just for this single!

      • Deb

It is the cover of the single – it’s on his website and you can save it if you like. If it’s not the image in iTunes when I buy it I’ll just upload this image instead – he looks GREAT!!

    • Deb

If you go to his website you can save this image – and it’s title indicates that it’s the single cover. I saved it and will add it to my iTunes for sure (he looks AWESOME!!)

    • Matt

Been on vacation and I come back to this? It is overproduce yet I find myself liking it. Figured he would have a catchy pop tune for his first single, you know to be different from his TFM Ballad. Anyways can’t wait till his album. Just wish all the freak haters would go hide and stop the nonsense drivel.

ADAM will be performing this on the AMA Awards on Nov. 22nd.

  • a

no substance, bubble-gum, teeny-bopper manufactured format….a letdown. sigh.

    • hmm…

Unfortunately, I agree. I was hoping for better, but I just kept picturing kids from the 80′s roller skating to this song. I haven’t fallen in love with a Kris or Adam song yet… Maybe the next one will Rock.

  • Marilyn

I like it. Probably won’t be MY favorite from the CD, but it is current. I think the CD will need to be taken as a whole to be appreciated. I’m looking forward to a CD that as some variety–where every song doesn’t sound exactly like the last!

  • Jed

OMG! I’ve been waiting a long time for this to come out and now that I’ve heard it, I’m not disappointed. Go Adam!

  • Gemini

Adam has a strong fan base from being on Idol but he needs to branch out and get new fans, too. This is the kind of music that is being played on the radio and what the “kids” are listening, too. As his fans know, he can sing anything, so let him have fun with an upbeat, catchy dance tune. I am sure he will also have his heartfelt ballads that we love on his CD, too. Don’t be such haters, jeez.

    • Kam

I agree with you. I find it catchy and pleasing to those who enjoy the dance floor. AGAIN…Adam will have songs reflecting various layers of music genre – which appeals to me as a music listener – which he has always indicated as what he likes to do in his music. Perhaps his fans may be able to distinguish their favorites songs (from his album) on varying scales but they will buy the album – no matter what – and will be extremely happy they did. Personally…sales of Adam’s album will be EPIC, just as with every albums he will be putting out. He is that talented – not only with doemstic fans but internationally.

  • Amazing

    LOVE IT.

  • Jennifer

Well, I have mixed feelings about this song. I think it’s catchy and has the potential to do pretty well on radio. But, at the same time, if I didn’t know this was Adam, I wouldn’t be able to tell from the voice. It sounds like every other piece of over-produced dance pop on the radio today. A lot of people are fans of that though, which is why I think it will do well.

Personally, I am not a fan of this genre of music so I won’t go out of my way to purchase the song, and if this is indicative of his album, I probably won’t purchase that either. It just seems like the kind of Britney-esque song that I think is catchy when I’m in the car and it happens to come on, but other than that it’s nothing special.

I wish him all the best though. I really do love Adam as a person and a performer and I hope success comes his way. I’m still willing to give the rest of his album a chance.

  • Mimi

i bet he does a great live version! i think it’s a bit to simple for an adam song, i expect more belting, like what happens a bit later in the song. i expected more range in the melody too! bit dissapointed, but it’s not horrible! love kris’ song better… which i didnt expect!

    • Kerry Jackson

Isn’t he going to do a live version? I thought I read somewhere that he would be singing his debut single at the AMA? If not wonder what song he will sing?

    • Kerry Jackson

I like Kris’s song, but not better than Adam’s. But that is ok, to each their own.

  • jay

What I expected from him was much much better. What’s point of going on a singing competition and being called a great vocalist if all he wants to do is stuff like this. I heard it about 3 times now and I can’t remember it.
All his fans were going on about how different he was and how epic his single/album, would be and all that he’s done is try to make himself commercial by going with the current flow. I’m not impressed.

    • Huh?

Jay this song is about as different from TFM as a body can get. Adam is multifacited (hope I spelled that right). Take a deep breath, because the album will mostlikely be like him –a little bit of everything. TFM had a bit of country feel w/a bit of gospel thrown into the 80′s rock mix for good measure. So wait and see. He needs more than just the fractured Idol base to succeed, now. This is a soild radio single. The album as a whole, will be a different animal.

  • Pam

I LOVE this song!! It is edgy, catchy, he sounds amazing, and I can’t stop dancing to it! Seriously – this guy was on American Idol???? AMAZING

  • Caroline

I knida like it…. it’s different from what I usually listen to, but it’s really catchy. I agree with Mimi about live performances, that would be really awesome to see!

    • mitchell

      Catchy? More like crappy.

      • Kerry Jackson

Well your statement sure is “crappy”!

  • Alex

I like the song…I think it will get better the more I listen to it. They should have used the picture in the video for his album cover instead of the space age glam rock one they chose.

  • eva

Fun! I can tell this will totally end up being my new jam.

  • RR3

Everyone seem to be overthinking this song…is fine is catchy, and like Mimi said, live will sound great!!…
Remember Adam has said all along, it will have something for everyone
    Chill down !!!…

    • Mee

Yeah.. its obvious his first single was going to be an upbeat..catchy tune.. I think its a great first impression..and I can’t wait to hear more! : )

    • mitchell

It’s amazing how some people will overlook something obviously crappy in the name of loyalty to Adam. I’m sorry, but at this point, Adam really needs to earn his stripes. This first single is crap, and he should be ashamed of himself for letting them release it.

      • Kerry Jackson

I think you should be ashamed for saying what you did. Ok, I think we get you don’t like this song. But to go further and say Adam should be ashamed of himself for letting it be released? How nasty of you to say that. You just had to take it further, didn’t you? You sure ruined my good mood. It wasn’t that you didn’t like the song that bothered me, it was the added part that did. Don’t insult the artist over a song you didn’t like. That is taking it a bit too far to me.

      • Kerry Jackson

BTW I didn’t overlook anything in the name of loyalty to Adam, I like the song so I said I did. I think most people here gave a honest opinion. So don’t insult the fans either.

      • mitchell

If anybody else sang this song, you wouldn’t be making exuses for the artist. Adam obviously thought that this crappy song was good enough to be his first single. He deserves most of the blame for its release, and as a fan, you should be very disappointed.

      • Kyle

Im personally a little let down, not because this song isnt good, more because I wasnt expecting anything like this.

        BUT

I have to say, its a bit silly of you to assume that Adam is the one chosing what he releases. I imagine he has had absolutely no say whatsoever in what he releases. He’s on his first album, and has probably had just a little bit more say what he does than my Grandma did.

      • mitchell

The fact that Adam even recorded this mess makes him resposible. His name is on the album, isn’t it? If anything, this song represents something within the ballpark of what he likes and approves of. Stop making lame excuses for it. I suggest you do what all the other fans are doing: make this your favorite type of music.

      • Kerry Jackson

WRONG again Mitchell! If I didn’t like the song I would say so. Don’t insult me! Just because YOU didn’t like the song don’t assume others feel the same way. If another artist had sung this song I don’t know if I would have heard it because I only listen to music of artists I know. Will you stop with the “stop making lame excuse” crap! Why can’t you get it through your noggin that people actually like this song? You are arrogant and ignorant at the same time! Say you don’t like it and move on. Stop trying to fill our heads with we shouldn’t like it either BS!

      • Harry

Kyle: while I think Adam’s label surely made some decisions for him, Adam seems like the kind of artist who has a very strong point of view. It’s very evident from his album cover that he knows what he wants and gets it done. So the idea that Adam did not want “For Your Entertainment” as a first single doesn’t really make sense to me. I think he wanted to tear himself away from the box that people were putting him in and wanted to showcase something different.

      • mitchell

It’s not about whether you like this song or not. The fact remains: it’s not exactly a strong artistic statement. The first single is supposed to set the tone for the album. If this is any indication, I feel sorry for all the fans who will waste their hard-earned money on this.

      • Matt

That is not always true Mitchell. I have heard Allison’s single, while pop and catchy, I hope more rock will be on there. Kris’s first single is nothing like the other snippets I have heard from him. Now to Adam, this single in no way sets the tone for his album. He has stated time and again that he will not just do one genre on his album. So that is where YOU are wrong. By all accounts. I don’t feel I would be wasting my money on this, but you sure don’t have to buy it. Let others who do like it and want to buy it do so without your stupid comments.

      • terie

@Mitchell: If your boss tells you to do something because he wants it done do you disagree with him? This is ADAM’s career we are talking about here and while I’m sure he does have some input in the final analysis he still has to do what TPTB say or else … NO ALBUM!! Capice??
