HD, I’m with you-totally in fangirl heaven. I was ambivalent about FYE, though I am looking forward to his performance of it(the lyrics rock). But some of these snippits are sure hitting my sweet spot. I love Loaded Smile, Broken Open, and Soaked-which in 30 seconds of snippit is my fav. Music Again I think is going to be huge. I think it should be his next single(along with my other favs!what a geek I am). I am thrilled with what I’ve heard so far, and think Adam delivered big time. And I can now breathe a large sigh of relief.
I agree with you cheyenne. I was a bit worried after hearing FYI, which I liked but wasn’t crazy about. It did grow on me to the point I actually started to love it then these snippets came and I am so excited…….well mostly my wife is and teenage daughter. I am not super excited but she (daughter) wanted dear old dad to put that there. lol Can’t wait for the album. Glad I pre-ordered enough for all of us. WE don’t like to share our music so……..lol

Music Again, Sleepwalker, Pick U Up, and Broken Open are my favorite but there aren’t any that I hate. For once we have an artist here whose songs don’t all sound the same. One album…one playlist!
My favorite besides Soaked and Aftermath and Sleepwalker is Broken Open…….that song is growing on me………just loving it!

From a non-rocker who thought Adam was all that on AI. I love this album. My fav’s are the ones with the beats, FYE, IF I HAD YOU,MUSIC AGAIN,FEVER,PIC U UP,STRUT and love love all the rest. GO ADAM!!!
To me this album meets my expectations. I am not a fan of the single he just put out. But it looks like he has put out a solid album with various songs for everyone to enjoy.
I absolutely could not stand Adam on Idol. The entire season I felt like he was self-indulgent over stylized. Here, the snippets just seem to prove my point. No doubt that the man can sing, but now the music he is putting out seems too stylized, even for him. Listening to the radio and seeing what’s a hit now, I would have to say that I can’t stand any of these songs… but based on what’s doing well now, I would suggest releasing “If I Had You” because it has a similar backbeat like Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You” and that was on the top of the charts for months.
This will definitely not be on my list of CD’s to purchase….

Good point. Adam’s music is not what Megan likes to listen to but she has no personal attacks and no ridiculous “he can’t sing” remarks. As soon as someone does that, they completely lose credibility. Of course Adam can sing anything, but those people, it wouldn’t matter what he sings, they’ve already decided to hate it. And though “If I Had You” was not one of my favorites, she’s right that it would be easy radio listening. I wonder if that one was just filler and they’ve saved enough better ones to start a new album.

I was the biggest Kris Allen fan in the world until I heard his uninspired song bits last week. Now I can see that Adam really was the bigger star and should have won Idol.
A little unfair to make such sweeping conclusions based on snippets, but you’re entitled to your opinion.
Wait until the album drops. I think you will be happily surprised. Love Adam, but Kris Allen has talent. Both are talented men, just different.
Really? Well I wasn’t that big of a fan of Kris TILL I heard his snippets and I can say I am now a fan. My daughter always was, she just loves Adam more, but she brought both Adam and Kris to my attention and I enjoy both. I love different styles of music, and while I may be a “hillybilly” I sure don’t like country. LOL I have read where Kris is dull, boring, I mean really? How could anyone say that after hearing his new music? When I need rock and want to groove (sorry daughter) I listen to Adam, when I want to chill and relax I listen to Kris, the best of both worlds if you ask me!
Couldn’t agree more, Matt. It surprises me when people say they only like one of these guys. Why is there no room for both of them? I think they are both tremendously talented and offer different things. There’s absolutely no reason one can’t be a fan of both. If you’d like an analogy: Adam is the perfect vacation: like a rollercoaster ride; exciting, thrilling, fun, but you probably only go on vacations every once in a while. Kris is more of a home – comfortable, endearing, warm – you just wanna snuggle up in his music and chill. Both guys offer different things, but both are stars.

Adam said he would have an eclectic album and he was right. So too are the opinions on this board. Interesting thing is that we all have different tastes, but I dont know if anyone has pointed out that the majority of comments are seemingly saying, “I like about 75% to 85% of this album so far.” When was the last time you could honestly say you liked an album more than 50%? For me it would be Purple Rain. Hence my…Go Adam! Hit the charts buddy.

Excellent point. Even if you only like 75% it is still is a remarkable album because I usually don’t like all songs on any album. This one may be the first exception. I love pretty much all snippets. I love Adam’s voice may be part of the reason and the songs are just awesome.
First of all, I don’t think it is fair to judge songs from 30 sec snippets, and I will wait for the album to drop before I decide for myself what I like or dislike. That being said, I will admit that I listened to the previews ( even though I promised myself I would’t), I am a huge Adam fan , love his voice, and “soaked” brought me to tears, will probably be my favorite. Bottom line: cannot wait to get my album copy, I am sure I will enjoy it.
This is hilarious. NOBODY likes If I had You, and it is by far my favorite. I don’t understand how could you not like it? It has a crazy catchy beat/tune. Considering I’m the only one who likes it, I’m obviously the dense one! That will definitely be the first song I purchase, however. It might have something to do with the fact that I love Techno/Euro, and that is exactly what that songs seems like. That’s the kind of song you would hear at a club or remixed by Tiesto/Calvin Harris (ok, so maybe they wouldn’t, but who knows?)
Oh yeah – also, to add on to what I said, I would imagine that If I Had You won’t be big in the U.S., but I would expect it to be much more accepted in Europe – which would be cool if he could capture both sides of the globe with this album.
Hey Matt from another Matt, enjoyed your opinion. I kinda liked If I had You too. Not as much as Soaked but don’t know why others don’t enjoy that one? Bet the full version will change many minds.
I’m digging the sound of Sleepwalker. Can’t wait to hear that in full. Also Music Again sounds incredibly kewl. And Soaked. Definite winners.
LOVE all the songs–epic Adam–I am counting down the days!
It is very hard to tell anything from 30 second snippets, but I am enjoying many of them, and to me that is the marvel of it all. I did not expect to like that many! I believe Adam has come through on his promise of “something for everyone.” I am looking forward to getting the album now and hearing everything in its entirety. Sounds to me like he could have a couple of big hits off this album. I’ve also enjoyed reading everyone’s comments here for once. There are a lot of divergent opinions, but it seems that everyone likes something. That is a good sign.
I am hoping the best for Adam and the others.
