Muse, 'Undisclosed Desires': Watch the new video here

Fantabulously histrionic Brit-rockers Muse—who, as any dedicated fan will tell you (and tell you and tell you), did in fact have a career well before Twilight—get all wired up and robo-tribal in the new clip for the very Depeche-y single  “Undisclosed Desires,” from their recently released fifth album, The Resistance. Watch it below:

Someone’s been watching a lot of Nine Inch Nails videos.

While I am very happy that Muse is getting the attention it deserves, as a longtime fan, having this ‘Twilight’ fame hoisted upon them can sometimes get a bit irritating. I say this not only as a Muse fan but also as a ‘Twilight’ fan. They did have quite the following prior to ‘Twilight.’ You make it sound as though you are annoyed that those of us who recognized their brilliance early on.

I’m a pretty big fan of Muse, I’ve listened to them for years and I hate the Twilight hype so you can bet I didn’t hear about them from Twilight, but I can’t say this video impresses me at all. Of course their bombast has always been a part of it but this just looks pretentious. I like the song alright, but not the video. and I agree with crispy–someone’s been watching a lot of NIN vids.

Not as good as the killer teddy bears, but everything Muse does is pretty awesome.

I love the song and the guys (and keytar!) look great, but I have no idea what is up with that dancer.

is she the one from the “all you need is love” mastercard commercial? Her hair looks the same…

Can I just say that, as someone who has been a fan since well before Origin of Symmetry was released, I have absolutely no problem with them being famous because of Twilight. And I am not a Twilight fan. I mean for goodness’ sake, surely it’s a good thing that they’re getting a wider recognition and more people are listening to their music? What does it matter how people heard about them? And it’s got to be better that they are famous through something that people feel equally passionate about than because one of their songs got played on a phone company commercial or something. The annoyance is probably more because suddenly it’s cool to like them and we were never considered cool even though we’ve been fans for ages. Because no one cares about our taste in music. Because we aren’t cool. We’re music geeks. Live with it.

here here. if twilight makes tweens listen to great music like muse as opposed to the horrible ‘bahhhing’ that is miley cyrus then that’s ok by me

Lame. Muse is very hit and miss with me and this is a miss.

LOOOVE the song. It was my fave when I first bought the album. (Now its Exogenesis pt.1 and I Belong to You) But this music video is a little odd. Maybe I just don’t get the concept. I love Muse so much. They can do no wrong.

I have to agree with posters above that I am happy for the extra exposure Twilight brings to Muse, as long as people realise they’ve been around a lot longer, and were extremely successful before lots of teens swooned over vampires.

I just hope the Twilight fans go back and listen to some of Muse’s early stuff – I’d love to see the (probably) bemused look on their faces when they listen to Space Dementia or Micro Cuts for the first time!

As for the song, fantastic. The video? I like it, espec. Matt’s shades. Tres chic. I hope to be seeing Muse live in the Boston area sometime soon…

    • Jennifer

Yes, when are they going to announce US tour dates?

My favorite bit is when Matt plugs himself in!

      • topazbean

Yeah he is a bit of a fan of this whole ‘I’m a Robot’ thing. Ref: Plug in Baby…

  • terie
