    • andrea

yeah people don’t have to keep it to themselves just cause you don’t like like it

  • Kevin

He has a nice voice FOR A WIFE BEATER!

    • Keish

i didnt know he was married?

  • You all are jealous

If he isn’t the hottest Topic, why in the h311 are you all keep writing and commenting about him?…Remember bad publicity is good publicity sillllllllyyyyy people. You go Chris and your first concert is sold out!

I usually disagree with Simon constantly, but with this subject i tend to agree with him. Yeah, he is kinda being unbiased with his unashamed scolding of Brown in many of the Music Mix blog posts, but I think its actually good. Why should reporters make him out to be a good guy? Cause thats the angle his PR rep wants in order to grant an interview like with Sway on MTV?! RIDICULOUS! He is an admitted beater of women. Why should that be so easily forgotten!? Cause he is promoting a new album!? HELL NO. Simon, PLEASE continue to rip on Chris from now til the album drops, and even after when his sales aren’t that great. PLEASE. Someone needs to remind him that he is tarnished and ruined EVERYDAY.
And as far as the album goes…here’s the thing. His past singles have done well since he’s had multi-format hits since his “Run It!” debut, but many pop programmers are hesitant to add “I Can Transform Ya” or “Crawl”, and with most radio prgammers shutting down adds on playlists the 2nd week of Dec. til the first week of New Years…I don’t see many pop porgrammers adding “Crawl” into rotation, even if he posts a top 5 debut for “Graffiti”. Whats this translate into? Brown shoulda waited to release the album, it doens’t matter how many fans, still got his back. If mainstream radio programmers won’t forgive him, then all these songs are dead on arrival.

who gives a crap about what Simon whatever his name is says or what you think…it still will not stop his comeback..he is in heavy rotation where i live…and Sway or MTV arent the only network or interviewer out here..he doesnt owe either one of you a darn thing…so keep it moving…have you volunteered at a DV shelter lately or maybe even donated some money to a cause?

      • Phil

Keish, actually I have donated money & my time as a volunteer, and NOT because a court ordered me to. I feel bad for you. I don’t know you, but Keish is usually an African-American name. As a black female you should REALLY know facts before supporting a fellow African American who has made a fool of himself in the spotlight. Oprah is THE height of African American women. you may not agree with her, or aspire to be her, but she is a smart, Black, successful woman. IF she is calling Chris Borwn out, maybe you as an African American female should listen. I mean really, why back an admitted loser? Do you have low self esteem?

      • Keish

I have my own opinion and dont need to follow someone like Oprah Winfrey and the fact that you made that dumb A$$ comment tells that you need to get your head out of her a$$. I wouldnt give a damn what the big O said or who she called out, she isnt the law. My self esteem is fine but is yours ok where you feel like you have to talk down about someone. Are you trying to hide the fact that you have issues. Does it make you feel better to talk about someone and the mistakes they have made as if you were the almighty himself giving out judgement? I bet if you saw the person in person you wouldnt have the nerve to say what you can say hiding behind your computer. Whether I am black or white does not matter. Bottom line is he who is without sin cast the first stone and since nobody is perfect then you need to keep your mouth closed. And you are not fooling anyone by saying yes you have donated to the cause. Anyone can say that, how true is it? Build a bridge and get over it.

      • Phil

Keish, sweetie, let me set the record straight for you. First off, I am a strong, independent person who has NO PROBLEM what-so-ever telling anyone to their face what i think of them, whether it be praise or criticism. Because of this, most people either love me or hate me. I don’t kiss people’s a$$, cause all that leads to is being fake. I’m a real person. And thankfully, most of the people in my life, love & respect me for that. And my judgements are based on living a life full of experinces. Hopefully, one day, you too will wise up, when someone in your life you are close to has been unlucky enough to have to deal with domestic abuse, and maybe then your tune will change. Until then, you just see Chris as the unsung hero, waiting for his chance at a 2nd act. Thats fine. I’m not asking you to change that opinion, cause I already know how you’ll feel on the inside should he screw up again, and should something happen in your life, that makes you think differently.
As far as volunteering goes, helping at a woman’s shelter is no less charity than putting time aside assisting at an old folk’s home, which I do when I can, since I already have to go to spend time visiting my grandma at one. You see how hard & depressing it is, and if you actually have any care in your heart, you feel moved to give some of your time to those seniors that are at the tail end of their long lives. I’d rather spend a weekend giving my time there than building your self-righteous bridge. You are defending someone you’ve NEVER MET, nor will you ever. Who cares that yes, I’ve met Chris & interviewed him in the past while he was promoting an album. Does that make my comments any more truthful than yours? NO. All I am saying is, that he not yet atoned for this screw up, and because of it, jumping back into his ‘star mode’ promoting a new album…he’s more likely to NOT properly atone for this, and is likely to get in trouble somewhere down the road yet again, which at that point, no one would be wanting to forgive him. If he can’t understand that maybe right now, his own personal growth is more important than his career, than sadly, he probably never will, because there will always be fans like yourself there to remind him, “He’s a star. Live your life!” Even if that life is as far from reality as one can imagine.

  • Blue Silver

I don’t care about that woman beater at all!!! I sure hope he goes away…like, NOW!!

    • Keish

then why are you reading about him?

  • Vivi

I thought it was all about the music, Simon? Focus on the music. Focus on the video. When I listened to this song and video, I didn’t even think he was talking about Rihanna. In fact, Rihanna didn’t even cross my mind. It’s clear that YOU want to believe this is about Rihanna because clearly you can not get over what Chris did to Rihanna. Your personal judgement is clouding your views about what this post should be about: the music and the video. Please, give the Chris Brown assignments to somebody else if you can’t handle it.

  • Kevin

    WIFE BEATER!

  • Mercedes

This video really shows how Chris has grown as an artist…if dont like this song and video you’re crazy, its amazing. Videos with actual symbolism and a storyline with deeper meaning is a rare thing today
I love Chris Brown he is talented and he’s apolgized, doing his punishment, lets move on.

Definitly buying his album DECEMBER 8th!!!

  • lisa

i love u chris, from my heart marry me

  • Mercedes

also I think EW should fire you, Simon Vozick-Levinson, your completely useless as a MUSIC CRITIC..and you obviously have no idea what you’re doing

    • Keish

      I second that
