Oh I just don’t know what to think. I loved him on the show but I did not like this performance tonight at all.

  • Not a fan

I was hoping he would fall flat on his face tonight to lower some of the hype, and he did, literally. His voice was NOT good.

  • Devin

I don’t think it’s crazier than anything Britney ever did over the years… Okay, maybe pushing the dancer’s face into his crotch was a little much, but honestly he did what he wanted to do. Everyone’s going to be talking about it, love it or hate it. And that’s what matters.

    • Ali

The difference between Adam and Britney is he’s brand new on the music scene while Britney was out there for a long time before all her craziness

      • barbara

And Adam has real talent so he doesn’t have to use all the sexual gimics!Brittany’s only talent is probably her crotch.Adam has the whole package just didn’t use it yesterday!

  • Adwina Lambert

Oh Sleaze-suck you whine so much!! Tee-hee!

    • Jason

      Here here!!

    • Christy

I give Michael props. He could have very easily spun this in Adam’s favor. He showed himself to be a disappointed fan and not an apologist. Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade.

  • Alexis

trainwreck. broadway clothes and off pitch vocals aside.

  • Will S

My ears wanted to bleed after hearing Adam perform. It was hardly anticipated on my end. The best ones on stage were Jay-Z/Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga. I pretty much enjoyed everyone but Adam Lambert…

  • Slezak Fan

Totally agree with your take. It’s like they were completely focused on shock value, and not at all on the stuff that would have actually entertained, like good vocals.

I’ve been a huge adam fan for months and have bought his albumn online. but i could not have been more disappointed tonight. it’s going to be impossible for me to brag about him and introduce him to friends. i’ve been listening to FYE for days and was excited about tonight. but his performance was poorly conceived and even more poorly executed.

      • JLM

Oh lost your bragging rights. Check out what happened to Adam – The sounds goes down at a minute 14 seconds and comes back but the ques are off and he is thrown off vocally. Then there are double vocals and then he trips (and has a perfect recovery barely missing a beat). But you are worried about losing bragging rights??? Adam’s album is great and decent fans will realize every performer has sh-t happen!!

      • Christy

LOL Darn those sound mixes making him panic into thrusting his groin into dancers faces! *shakes fist* curse you technical problems for forcing his hand to make bad decisions!!!

        Please.

  • Grady

I thought it was tasteless. Whether or not it was gay or straight- it was just inappropriate.

  • Gabrielle B.

    Racy. Daring. Surprising.
    ADAM.
That’s the only word to describe it.. Adam.

    • Janet

I agree. The Choregraphy was intersting and people are just offended because all the other sex stuff on the show was from a womens perspective and strutting her stuff. Adam is a male perspective and people can’t handle it. I loved it!!

    • Moosie

Agreed – it was racy, daring and surprising… But nowhere in your description do I see GOOD or TALENTED… Those are two other words that I used to use to describe Adam, and after last night… Not so much~! I know he’s not going for the “kid-friendly” vote, but my kids LOVED him during Idol and I was sure thankful I had the good sense to send them to bed before this performance came on!

  • ouch

Love, love, love Adam Lambert! I wanted him to KILL on this performance. I wanted the non-IDOL watching public to discover this super-human mega-talented singer and be wowed and awed. So disappointed. I agree, Slezak. He was so concerned about his shock and roll performance that for the first time ever he didn’t sing well. Ouch. Ouch. Still a huge fan, but OUCH!

  • Sue Boykin

I like so many others have been waiting with excited anticipation for Adam’s debut tonight only to be so terribly disappointed almost to the point of tears and embarrassment for him. His video for 2012 was magnificent and I thought this would possibly outdo that video given the audience and TV coverage. It looked more like a gay rights rally and I’m not even sure I want to buy his album now given his poor vocals as well. He’ll have to do some serious damage control here to bring fans back.

  • Collin Kelley

There’s never a problem when a guy is roughing up some female dancer on stage, but as soon as it’s two guys, then the homophobia and double-standard come into play. That said. the performance was more shock than awe. The song is TERRIBLE and Adam sounded rough. Lady GaGa owned the night — as usual. Adam should have had her write his single.

  • Urvy

    Damn.

Looks like it’ll be Goldust Vs. Adam Lambert at the Royal Rumble in 2010

  • JJ

That was THE WORST performance in AMA history.

There’s a difference between a sexy and a gross/trashy performance. Adam’s was gross. Problem is, he went more for the shock value, than for a quality performance, which is what caused people to be a fan of his in the first place.

  • Mark

Some of the vocals were off, something I never heard from Adam before. I think all the sexual stuff just got him scratched off a bunch of Christmas gift lists. I think ABC is going to take a serious look at who produces the show next year. This wasn’t an impromptu display of sexuality, like the Modanna/Britney kiss.

    • JenR

You think the Madonna/Britney kiss was impromptu? Hahahaha!
