I’m old enough to remember a time when James Cameron made Guns N’ Roses-assisted movies about killer cyborgs (see video at bottom). These days he seems to be all about love stories and big ballads. You may recall that, for Titanic, the auteur recruited Celine Dion to sing a little ditty called “My Heart Will Go On.” And now Brit songbird Leona Lewis has provided some similarly big-lunged balladeering for his forthcoming sci fi extravaganza Avatar in the form of “I See You,” which you can hear below.
Actually, to my ears, it sounds at times like Lewis is going to break into “My Heart Will Go On.” Give “I See You” a listen, and see if you agree.

I’m not going to listen to the song because, well, it’s Leona Lewis. But that headline was inspired. Nice job.
Clark, you’re not mistaken about it sounding like Leona is going to break into “My Heart Will Go On.” It sounds really similar which is not surprising because James Horner probably wrote the song. All of his stuff sounds alike from any movie. Seriously, listen to Braveheart, Apollo 13, and then Titanic. You can predict exactly where the music is going to go.
Ummm…I almost fell asleep. Not very catchy if you ask me…not that anyone did!
Zzzzzzzz. At least “My Heart Will Go On” had a catchy melody and a grand, sweeping structure. I dare anyone to try to hum this song. It falls immediately out of the ears after you hear it.
Brilliant! better than my heart will go on! sung with more feeling! no-one can touch her vocally! amazing!
are you kidding me celine dion is the BEST!!!!! And nobody can compare to her vocally! Are you insane?!
I really like it. It’s similar to My Heart Will Go On, but that isn’t such a bad thing, is it? It’s an epic, beautiful romance song. Just what the doctor ordered. Hopefully.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring
What a load of nonsense, the song sounds NOTHING like My Heart Will Go On.
Do all you spotty faced wankers take drugs or something?
r english or somethin’?
AMAZING!!! could be alittle bit more catchy! but i like it! man amazing amazing!
The vocals are amazing, probably best i’ve heard her sing, like you said could be more catchy, but you never can please all of the people all of the time. I really really like it!
It’s a theme tune to a movie ffs, NOT an out and out single…it will be played with the main focus being visual – on a sequence/scene in the movie…try and imagine it…The vocals she produces for it, are AWESOME!
That visual being the end credits you mean.
No…I mean it’ll be played during an extended scene of some sort during the film…(plus as the credits roll!)
Leona is brilliant as always.
at least this singer looks smokin’ hot…
I love Leona, and thinks she has an amazing voice. but this song is bland. where’s the chorus? the hook? the song does nothing.
I don’t this song was meant to be a marketable radio-catchy, repeating-phrase hookish song.
And no, I don’t hear how it sounds like Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On.
I think this song’s key changes are really interesting.
It is not similar to “My Heart Will Go On” at all. The only similarity is that they are both ballads, and so are a lot of other songs. People are only making that comparison because it’s for a James Cameron movie.
