50 Cent and Susan Boyle: Would you listen if they collaborated?

According to a British rumor mill (motto: “Gossip gone toxic”), 50 Cent is dying to work with Susan Boyle. “Susan Boyle is hot right now,” the rapper allegedly said. “She’s got an amazing voice, and together we’d get everyone dancing…I got to get her on a track, for real. We’d make a hit.” Also: “She’s cool. I’d love to take her clubbing, show her around my world.”

Given the provenance of these words, I might be inclined to wonder if they ever even left 50′s mouth. But a rep confirms to the Music Mix that the quotes are legit, more or less: “He was asked on a red carpet would he ever do a song with Susan Boyle, and he responded saying sure, if the material was right he would.”

That still doesn’t mean there’s the slightest chance that this will ever happen. In all likelihood, 50 was just kidding around — and now that Boyle has proven herself as a huge seller, she hardly needs to collaborate with him or anyone. Even so, let’s imagine for a moment that this meeting of the minds actually came to pass (it won’t). Would you buy a 50 Cent-Susan Boyle MP3 on iTunes or Amazon.com? How about if it was a free stream? Do you think anyone from either of these artists’ fan bases would be interested in hearing them record together?

wow. that would be so inspirational if she did it!

nothing gives more street cred than a susan boyle collabo

    • mike

What’s that supposed to mean? Do you honestly think a rapper needs street cred to be successful? At the end of the day, it’s all pop music. If it sounds good, it’ll sell.

50 has lost his freakin mind. He likes to create his records sales via controversy (ex: feuds with fat joe, the game, and every other rapper)

Not so fast. Yeah, 50 has a reputation for overdoing it to get attention, but a Boyle collabo might actually work if it’s done right. If you know hip-hop, you know that you can blend just about anything in it and make it work. If anybody can do it, 50 can.

Of course I’d be interested. It would be very unique!

When SuBo hears bout dis, she gon pop a cap in Fiddy’s ear

  • Bluestreak

Rhetorical question. Is there anyone on planet earth that wouldn’t listen?

    • sunshinegirl1455

oh lord so true! curiosity alone will win on this one!

  • Jelana

I don’t like either of them, but hell yeah, I’d listen.

50 cent has never released a listenable CD.Sounds like he’s trying to cash in on Boyle’s success.

    • mike

Not true. I guess you didn’t hear his first album. I believe it sold over 5 million. With those figures, I’m sure some people found it listenable.

      • Simon Vozick-Levinson

Get Rich or Die Tryin’ has sold well over nine million, actually. Great album — definitely listenable!

I’ve never heard of 50 cent, but I am a Susan fan! And if she were in it I would listen!

    • mikeNYC

you have never heard of 50 cent….???….. what???? ummm….what? who….um…..wha… never mind…. forget it

  • Marge

Rap is not music. Susan should not
lower herself to sing with the likes of that jerk

    • fancypants

rap is music and has been so for decades now. your opinion won’t change that.

    • mikeNYC

rap is not music???? I think the grammy’s would disagree…. forget it… im not coming to this website anymore.

  • Tiffany Brown

Susan is getting a chance to sign with some very famous people now! She just did something with Eliane Page, and now maybe 50 Cent? That’d be awesome! I’d listen for sure.

She’s also singing with Donny Osmond on the documentary about her on TV Guide. They just posted a clip. It is really cute.

  • miles

I’m interested in anything that Susan does, that’s how big fan I am.

  • Michael

I would definitely listen if they collaborated. I’ll listen to Susan any day with any one. 50 cent is pretty funny too so they might surprise you if they did a duet.

  • Lucacentric

This is going to be a monstrous duet! I think Susan Boyle and 50 cent have a lot more in common than it first appears. Tough road for both performers and both get judged on how they look all the time!

I just found out that the TV Guide channel is going to do an exclusive special on Susan Boyle’s life so we can check for the similarities. Here’s the link: http://www.tvguide.com/special/susan-boyle/

50 cent grew up in queens ny selling crack… he then did a stint in jail… and then began viciously attacking rappers verbally to make a name for himself. Not sure they have THAT much in common…. is this website full of morons????

  • Kelli

I’d be interested, I love SuBo, I don’t really listen to rap so much, but it does sound intriguing.
