Axl Rose denies authorizing statement over LAX paparazzi incident, calls the press 'communists'

Axl Rose has denied authorizing a statement which appeared on the Guns N’ Roses MySpace page last Thursday concerning a scuffle at LAX airport. The original statement declared that Rose was “unhurt last evening when he was accosted by an unruly group of paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport” and that he “was not injured during the unprovoked attack.” But in the new statement, which was also posted on the band’s MySpace page, Rose is quoted as saying that he, “did not release any statement or authorize either any statement or anyone to release a statement regarding anything at any airport anywhere.” Rose also informs “any publications running this” that they should “feel free to tack on whatever negative agenda supporting nonsense you generally do (You know who you are!!). After all it’s only someone else’s livelihood you media police state, no fun, spoil sport, communist bastards. Peace!!”

To be honest, this new statement raises a loft more questions than it answers. What was Rose’s problem with the original release (which can still be perused on the band’s website)? Did he dislike the accusation that he hadn’t provoked the paparazzi? And how do we know that this new statement has been authorized by Rose himself? Moreover, does anyone still care what the G N’R frontman has to say? Or is it time to consign him to the garbage heap of history, which is of course the destination Communist firebrand Leon Trotsky accurately declared the Mensheviks were bound after they walked out of the Second Congress of Soviets in October 1917 (I knew studying the Russian Revolution at college would pay off one day)?

Peace!!

Despite your inability to appreciate it, Chinese Democracy is a strong album and a bold creative step for Axl Rose. He is still one of the most talented frontmen in hard rock/metal.

AG, I love how intolerant people such as yourself deem persons who disagree with themselves as “ignorant”. We are all individuals with different tastes in everything, whether it be entertainment or food. Just because I didn’t care for Chinese Democracy doesn’t make me stupid, just different from you. That’s like calling someone stupid for not enjoying spaghetti. This attitude is a HUGE part of what’s wrong with the world today. Complete intolerance and lack of respect for differences.

AG and Anne, I disagree with you both.

“He is still one of the most talented frontmen in hard rock/metal.” hahahahahahahahahaha
Go back to your Daughtry cds.

Everyone likes spaghetti…prove me wrong people. Post if you don’t like spaghetti.

Anne, I’m sorry, but your comments are foolish. Where did I ever use the word “ignorant”? You used that word, not me. I never used the word “stupid”, either. You used that word all on your own. Nice projection on your part. Axl is one of the greatest frontmen in hard rock/metal history, period. Myself and many others believe that wholeheartedly. I never called anyone who doesn’t agree with that any derogatory remark. Re-read what I originally wrote.

what a loser. but at least his ignorance continues to amuse.

I care more about what he has to say than anything Kanye West has ever said.

Chinese Democracy is the most underrated rock album of the decade.

Axl Rose is the best rock frontman alive. He is performing better than he has since 1988.

    FACTS.

    • AG

Agreed, Jeff. If you haven’t heard the bootlegs from the recent Asia shows…WOW. The band sounds fantastic! The version of SCOM from Taipei was stunning.

  • Kevin

People still use MySpace? How quaint.

What a sad way to get publicity beating a reporter whose trying to make a living…Lennin and Mcartney never did that!!! for an old, has-been rocker it’s sad…I liked the young AXL once, full of raw energy and talent, but the old AXL needs to pack his bags and take off, maybe a cave in Afghanistan–go study some Russian history you might learn something!

I didn’t know Axl Rose was still alive?..

That TMZ video of Axl accosting the paparazzi – wow, Axl’s body language reminds us all of how middle aged and decrepit he’s become. What a fool, the original GNR could have gone on for another decade and another $100M but this bipolar idiot ruins it for everyone.
