On the season premiere of Elvis Costello’s Sundance Channel chat show, Spectacle, the boys of U2 joined the natty Brit and used the final musical performance to silence those gripers who thought “Get On Your Boots” was just a massive rip-off of Costello’s “Pump It Up.” Yeah, they sound similar. But if Elvis isn’t pissed, why should you be? Hey hey hey!
What do you think, Mixers? Awesomeness, or awfulness? And hey, are you watching season 2 of Spectacle? It’s pretty good, no? My favorite was watching the other two members of the Police restrain themselves from strangling a somewhat unrestrained Stewart Copeland last season. Do you have a fave moment from the show?

Donde estan Larry and Adam?
And Bob Dylan called Elvis – give the lid back
Entertaining… thanks for sharing.
This already aired in Canada on Friday – it was a snoozefest, and a ratings bomb.
“Yeah, they sound similar. But if Elvis isn’t pissed, why should you be?”
What makes you think the people pointing out the similarities between the songs were “pissed?” Just because I think Get On Your Boots is lame doesn’t mean I’m angry.
Good on Elvis for liking the song. As for me, I still think it’s a mediocre effort by U2.
It’s not really U2 without Larry and Adam. Where are they?
Agreed, this should read “Bono and Edge of U2 with Elvis Costello and The Imposters.” But then the headline would be too long. Apparently neither of them could make the taping. A shame actually. It would have been neat to see those two great rhythm sections in action together.
Seriously – where are Larry & Adam? It isn’t U2 without the drummer and the bass player. No one cares about Bono anymore. I want Edge, Larry & Adam to get some love for once.
TCB, Adam has said he couldn’t get to Toronto in time for the show (they taped it before their two gigs) and Larry was probably having a back treatment. Agreed that the other three are more interesting than the frontman these days.
