Simon Cowell, music industry destroyer? The 'Grinch' fires back at critics

1. The music industry is not about art and never has been. If it was about art, then Pat Boone would never have had a career. It is about the industry of music. Make it, market it, sell it.

2. How has a guy that is arguably the most successful man currently in the industry responsible for ruining it?

3. American Idol and the shows like it produce the same types of winners every year because the people that watch and vote for the winners are the same people every year. You will never see a true rocker, for instance, make it. This is simply because rockers do not watch Idol or vote for the winners. If only republicans voted, you would only get republican winners. It isn’t a tough concept.

4. Animal Collective (who I have heard of and listened to) is one of those bands that drew critical acclaim for reasons other than their popularity. The fact that Simon does not like them only means that Simon does not like them. If he had the power some are claiming here, noone would know who they are (including the critics.)

All American Idol does is dominate the music industry. Take the AMA’s when Adam Lambert closed as the final act. I mean…didn’t he come in 2nd?And what a slap in the face to the many other artist that got there by not standing in the AI “sissy” line.I bet almost every contestant is mocked by real music artist left and right! That ain’t worth much to me…to be scoffed by other artist as a joke.I bet at the AMA’s other artist were like”We really got to share the stage with this clown?AND HE’S CLOSING” American idol is a joke.
