Left-field hit-maker Sara Bareilles (you know, the one who wasn’t going to write us a love song) has penned her own loving tribute to the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore. Watch her perform it live here, but beware some NSFW language (hey, it’s a Jersey Shore tribute, what did you expect?)
Set to the tune of Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” Bareilles tells a Christmas-themed Joisey tale from the perspective of Snooki, The Situation and the rest of our grammatically-challenged, follicularly spectacular friends. With lines like “I have perfect abs/They’re above my crabs,” this might not become her next chart-topping hit, but it certainly has a future in the viral video vein.
What do you think? Does it make you laugh/giggle/guffaw or is it time we all lay off the poor, persecuted stars of the Garden State?

I was there that night. The funniest thing is it’s an all-ages club, and I was there with a 13-year-old. Haha. But it was all in good fun.
Sarah FTW. That was entirely too entertaining.
Loved it!
that was hot!
This was amazing! lol
I loved her for her music before. Now I just love her. She sounds great, was hysterical and just plain awesome.
I want her to be my best friend. She’s hilarious, she watches bad tv, and she’s super talented.
She needs to release another record. I don’t care if she will never match Love Song, and the album will flop. I loved her last one, although i thought it was a little overproduced in some tracks, i love when she strip down her songs, fit her better, she should an album: voice, piano & strings, maybe a guitar over here and a drum over there, but basically her and her piano.
I like how she did that song over a familiar song in Rihanna’s Umbrella with her guitar. The lyrics are so funny, a little vulgar and raunchy in some parts, but it shows how much she likes the show Jersey Shore a lot. Even interpolates the Eagles’ Hotel California at the tag end! Brilliant! She needs to get her next album out! She’s that good!
Too funny for words, and right on target.
