The Irish band Boyzone’s new single “Gave It All Away” features the late Stephen Gately, who died of natural causes last October at the age of 33. The band has just released the video for the Mika-penned song which also contains footage of Gately and which Boyzone member Ronan Keating has described as, “incredibly raw.” You can watch the video below.
Boyzone has never been that big a band in the US. But when we ran an item about Stephen Gately’s death it generated a huge response. So do Boyzone fans out there think this is a fitting way to remember the singer? Let us know.

Aw, that made me cry. So sad. Always loved that group and their music.
He is so hot
Thank you.
I got a little misty. It was a fitting tribute to Stephen – not only were we able to see some of the candid happy moments shared amongst the group, but also saw the impact his untimely passing has had on the remaining members. I will always remember him in the video for “Better,” where he looks into his boyfriend’s eyes with sheer and utter love.
It wasn’t his husband just a model hired for the day.
Love the song and video. It brought tears to my eyes. I’ve been listening to the song all day. I hope the song and video will be available for purchase through iTunes in US. I’m looking forward to listen to the complete new boyzone album in March. An excelent tribute to Stephen. RIP Steo.
The new video is definitely a fitting tribute to Stephen Gately! It has been done very elegantly… The rest of the boyz have made Stephen proud yet again.
It’s a wonderful tribute. There are more of us BZ fans in the US than you might think, and we’ve followed this group for years. What you see in that video is how the guys feel, and it is a beautiful song and a fitting tribute from the boyz to their brother.
It’s an amazing tribute to an amazing person. It’s increadibly hard to watch, but at the same moment also very beautiful. I’m sure Stephen would have loved it..
Lovely, a wonderful tribute. The voice of an angel.
