You people are idiots! They’re not making a cent off this single. All the proceeds from sales and downloads is going directly to Haiti, since money is what they’ve been asking for! These people loved using their talents to raise money for such a worthy cause!
Susan Boyle had the best voice on the CD hands down. I think it was admirable that all of these famous singers wanted to help out, but it would actually have been a better song if only Susan was singing. And it would likely sell a lot more too.
I’m impressed! The vocals were well sung. The duets had voices that complimented one another. Even the Europeon artists I’m not familiar with added impeccable vocals to the track. My hat is off to Simon for coordinating such a heartfelt version of an appropriate REM ballad. Yes – we all hurt because the people in Haiti are hurting so much. I feel the angst in the voices of those who are lending their voices to this effort. I loved that each artist added equally to the overall track. Well done!

I am amazed at the ignorance of some people.. how many of those of you who posted such negative (&Frankly quite UNFUNNY – do you think people are amused or disgusted? I think the latter rather) comments took one step towards helping this nation in need… You should be ashamed of yourselves.. None of these people performing in this video NEEDED the money or the exposure… They did what they could in fulfilling a NEED, something that any normal compassionate human being would do if they were in a position to.. so what if it is a Cover… REM gave their blessing.. They used a track that is worldwide-known and well loved – what better selling point that that!! They do a fine job, made so much finer by their commitment and humility at having done it. We as the more “fortuante” of the world should make an effort to spread the word, if we don’t want to buy the single so what, someone you know might want to make a difference in the life of one of these tragedy stricken people. Abe Lincoln (abridged version “Say nothing at all & let ppl think ur an idiot than open ur mouth and prove them right…” to those of u up there who find yourselves so terribly amusing….
