U.K. twin sensation Jedward cover 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)': The video—with Vanilla Ice cameo!—you didn't know you needed

Alright, stop. Collaborate and listen: Pompadoured Irish X-Factor twins + real-deal Vanilla Ice cameo = holy Friday YouTube whoa.

Eighteen-year-old identical twins John Paul Henry Daniel Richard Grimes and Edward Peter Anthony Kevin Patrick Grimes, a.k.a. Jedward, are a dancing, singing, follicularly dazzling phenomenon sprung from Simon Cowell’s Idol-esque U.K. singing competition (it crowned Leona Lewis in 2006).

They didn’t win, but that hardly seems to matter; judging by the pageviews their David Bowie/Vanilla Ice mash-up “Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)” in its scant few days on the internet, they’ve already won a different kind of prize.

Watch them below, enacting what one EW coworker describes as “Vanilla Ice plus Nelson plus MC Hammer plus Puff Daddy (the original) minus David Bowie times a bag of s— on fire,” and be amazed:

I want to hold them underwater until they stop twitching.

    • lettergirl

agreed. that was painful and not pleasant.

    • you are evil

dude, this is like the second post under this name where you’ve been advocating this kind of crap. you got issues man.

      • crispy

        What was the other one?

  • Jen

THESE TWINS’ SUCCESS DOES NOT REPRESENT THE MUSICAL CONSENSUS OF THE UK…

  • Lisa

They’re entertaining in a train-wreck sort of way. But I wouldn’t actually buy their music or go to a concert. What are they trying to be? Actual recording artists? lol.

  • %%

Wow, it’s about the least-inspired mashup that I have heard. The songs have basically the same beatline! Putting them together takes no imagination!

  • Anna

Well, I like it! Don’t be so sour, it’s not meant to be taken seriously you know…

  • Conor O’Brien

your headline makes it look like JEdward are from the UK, they are not from the UK. IRELAND IS NOT IN THE UK!!!!! i know you mention in the article that they are irish, but could you please change your headline or remove it entirely!

    • crispy

The headline is accurate… they’re a sensation in the UK. Apparently, the Irish have better taste in music.

      • Conor O’Brien

true, you got a point, but it still sounds like we are being painted with the one brush again!

    • Jade, UK

They’re actually number one in Ireland atm. It’s NOT looking likely in the UK however so your point is invalid

  • Conor O’Brien

try using ‘X-Factor Twin sensation’, before you pi$$ of more Irish people!

  • Jade, UK

    To Lisa.

I’ve seen them live twice and they really are born entertainers. I LOVE John and Edward to the obsessed level. I’ve also met them twice and they’re so nice and friendly. I play this song on repeat and the video is amazing. They don’t deserve all the badmouthing they’ve been recieving here in the UK. JEDWARD FTW!!!!!!!

  • Amy

Love these kids they bring the lol and the song is actually catchy. Better then anything American Idol has done in a while

  • Adwina Lambert

I’m going to have them as my front act when I’ll have my fairyland tour!! Tee-hee

  • john

I guess they are trying their best. simon cowell and louis walsh are trying to cater for the gay community and the teen vote but really I couldnt go to a concert of theirs but they are fun

    • Jade, UK

They do have a gay following but as far as females are concerned – it’s not just teens. I’m 26 and LOVE them – I am one of the youngest fans Jedward have. I know people in their forties that go and see them live. JEDWARD ARE FOR THE MASSES.

  • kira

    Jedward are brilliant fun.
I have seen them live they put on an amazingly energetic show – I’m really keen to see them again.
And in an interview they are the funniest genuine excentrics I’ve ever seen. Love ‘em!

  • X

The video is fun and entertaining to watch. They don’t deserve the s*** they get!

  • Niamh

They are irish , not from the United Kingdom. Geography Lesson needed
