Bonnaroo 2010 lineup finalized: Jay-Z, Kings of Leon, Dave Matthews Band, and Stevie Wonder to headline

Attention, Mixers! The lineup for Bonnaroo 2010 was disseminated in an agonizingly slow process over at the Tennessee festival’s MySpace page all day today. (Every six minutes, an animated cuckoo clock went off, and another artist was spit out into a floating cloud.) That lineup is now final, and can be seen, along with my increasingly nutso updates, after the jump.

Who’s going? Who’s excited? And which of your dream acts got left off the list?

Full lineup for Bonnaroo 2010:

UPDATE, 7:16 p.m. PT: I am relatively upset that no one updated the header with Stevie Wonder. Just sayin’.

UPDATE, 5:19 p.m. PT: I must leave you to your own devices for a time, Mixers — I have a social engagement on the books. But I’ll be back in a bit to catch you up on whatever the clock reveals while I’m gone. If they spit out Stevie Wonder and I’m not here, can someone put his name in the header? Thanks.

UPDATE, 5:00 p.m. PT: Blues Traveler. Which I think one of you commenters mentioned like three hours ago. Next year, I hope they get awesome DJs to remix the cuckoo clock song.

UPDATE, 4:37 p.m. PT: In the time that it took me to drive home, they rolled out Brandi Carlile, and the glorious dichotomy of LCD Soundsystem and Kris Kristofferson.

UPDATE, 4:14 p.m. PT: Just when I’d fallen asleep in a puddle of dried Diet Coke and drool, up popped Miranda Lambert!

UPDATE, 3:47 p.m. PT: No offense to the latest adds — Here We Go Magic among them — but I feel like we’ve taken something of a detour into Sidestage Lane. Also, it is getting dark outside, and I am still sitting here watching this damn cuckoo clock.

UPDATE, 2:36 p.m. PT: Dead Weather added —  is Jack White the first guy to play the ‘Roo three times with three different bands?

UPDATE, 2:33 p.m. PT: Billboard’s scoop on the Kings of Leon finally confirmed by the cuckoo clock.

UPDATE, 2:24 p.m. PT: Tori Amos, the Melvins, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band added. Time has lost all meaning.

UPDATE, 1:41 p.m. PT: If it’s possible, the ‘Roo just got hairier: country traditionalist Jamey Johnson and Akron rockers the Black Keys are on the clock. Also, They Might Be Giants. (But what’re we gonna do unless they are?)

UPDATE, 1:26 p.m. PT: Be they angels? Nay, they are but men — Tenacious D join the roster. Also, I have turned the sound off on the cuckoo clock.

UPDATE, 12:50 p.m. PT: Jeff Beck, and the flying flags of Dropkick Murphys. Meanwhile, Billboard has reported that Stevie Wonder and Kings of Leon will also be headlining. The cuckoo clock got scooped!

UPDATE, 12:18 p.m. PT: Bonnaroo shocker! Dave Matthews Band to play crunchy outdoor music festival! And in other Dave news, Rawlings!

UPDATE, 12:03 p.m. PT: Have been miraculously revived by addition of The National!

UPDATE, 11:50 a.m. PT: Fatigue setting in. I don’t even know who Neon Indian is.

UPDATE, 11:25 a.m. PT: I am going to be hearing this cuckoo clock music in my dreams. Oh, and Kid Cudi just popped up.

UPDATE, 11:01 a.m. PT: A bear just ate a robot to announce Gwar. Oh my x 2.

UPDATE, 10:42 a.m. PT: Jay-Z — who’s already headlining Coachella — was just added to the roster. Oh my.

OK, though I’m aware of your foolish disdain for Pink Floyd, the Flaming Lips’ version of Dark Side of the Moon is NOT something to look forward to… it is absolutely terrible!

    • Jeff C.

Yeah it’s pretty atrocious. Despite my love for the Lips, I don’t think I’ll be seeing them this time around.

DO NOT GO TO BONNAROO!! I have been several times and it keeps getting worse! There are undercover pigs there who are looking to get anyone in trouble, it’s hot, there is a lack of water and bathrooms.

Can’t believe something THIS BIG has come out of my hometown. Just can’t.

    • Josh

James, I agree… same here! But, gives me a great excuse to go back every year!!!

  • Meg

Norah Jones, Ok Go, Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor and the Avett Brothers = AWESOME

    • Meg

      Oops, left out Phoenix!

  • Dimi

When Gwar popped in the cloud, I thought the cloud was expressing disdain for something. I kept waiting for a band name to appear.

    • S.O.

GWAR will always remind me of that one scene in “Empire Records”. Ethan Embry’s stoner character was watching a GWAR video. “Wanna join the band?” LOL

      • Theresa

        Hilarious reference. Nice.

  • LOL

Nothing to get excited about so far. Wake me when they announce something worth seeing.

You’re missing out if don’t take the time to atpreciape AGIB and SBS. I have been a fan since AM and love the evolution. SBS comes across at first a bit timid, but the more you listen, the more magical it becomes. Most songs build and become special near the end. Impossible Germany is the best example.

The Avett Brothers are so great. I haven’t been able stop listening to their last album. It’s fantastic and I urge you all to pick it up.

  • Please.

    Jay Z.
One of the most overrated rappers to come out of the genre.

    • erin

  • Jay

  • James

Dude, did they just announce Jimmy Cliff for the third straight time?

  • Tim

    It’s all about the XX.

  • James

Did anyone else notice their cuckoo clock is stuck at 10:00?

  • dustin

Not a huge fan of Kings of Leon, Flaming Lips or Jay-z. Gonna have to pull some pertty big headliners(who, simon and garfunkel, mcartney) to get my money this year. Otherwise, its Phish, DMB in Cbus and possibly Burning Man

  • James

Sounds like Blues Traveler, Alison Krauss and Union Station, They Might Be Giants and a couple others have joined that bandwagon.

  • Jara Wallace

    Deat WHitney,

If you really don’t know who Neon Indian is, here they are. Get to knowing.

    • Whitney Pastorek

      Thanks, Jara!

      • Jara Wallace

        no problem ^.^
