Amazing song and album in the time it was released! Doug’s My Sharona has become a living part of the human collective conscious much like La Bamba, Twist and Shout, and A Hard Day’s Night. Long live Doug Fieger and the Knack!

Use to see Doug and his friends every Monday just like clock work at Chin Chin restaurant in Beverly Hills eating a nice guy always with a smile on his face and a good vibe. RIP Doug.

RIP Doug. I credit My Sharona as being the song that finally brought the disco craze to an end. Sure, there were a few more disco hits on the charts after Sharona, but not like there were before. Thanks for saving music Doug and rest in peace.

Did you know that Dale Hawkins died over the weekend. Dale was best known for co-writing Suzie Q with James Burton. Dale past away after a long battle with colon cancer. Dale was one of the corner stones of Rock-a-billy in the early days of Rock & Roll.

R.I.P. Doug. I was 14 when My Sharona hit the airwaves, listening to it kept me sane back then. My Sharona is still a hard rockin song!

Check out Doug’s band prior to the Knack. He was in a band from Detroit called Sky and they put out 2 lps, first one came out in 1970. Both lps were produced by Jimmy Miller who produced the Stones. After Sky broke up he moved to LA and formed The Knack.
