Academy of Country Music Awards nominations announced: Lady Antebellum continues to run that town

Go Lady Antebellum! They are awesome!
Glad about Carrie and Miranda’s nominations. Hope they win a lot. However I fully expect Carrie to be shut out so I hope they hand out the triple crown to her. The collaboration is what she has the most chance for. If she loses Female Vocalist hope it’s to somebody worthy like Miranda or Reba.
Plus I don’t think a lot of people realise that the Entertainer award is only partially fan voted. The academy still has a say in this but it’s not known to what extend.
But after the CMAs which does not have fan voting and taking into consideration the sheer voting power of Taylor’s fanbase, I’m convinced that Taylor is taking this.
quite a wide variety of styles under the umbrella of country music. its sad that we can’t include pure country artists like tracy lawrence, merle haggard and george jones on our air waves. every artist you talk to respectfully acknowledges their contibutions to the industry that won’t even play their music anymore. thank god for alan, george strait and new comers like chris young who stick with the pure country sound and actually get air time. country radio please don’t ignore the classic….

Thank goodness Taylor Swift is not up for Best Album, after stealing the Grammy and the CMA award from more talented artists. The ACM’s got the nominations right!

‘Fearless’ won ACM’s Album of the year last year
…But they almost would have nominated it again, since it’s still popular. They awarded it way before the Grammys and American Music Awards, long before the album really exploded in sales during 2009.
Carrie should have won, but her 3rd album came out a week before the awards and her last album Carnival Ride had already run its course.
i am a huge carrie fan but i heard miranda’s album and that one deserves to go to her….i will be rooting for carrie for eoty and i will be happy if any of the eoty winners win except for no talent swift…..

I think that Taylor Swift has won enough awards for Fearles, but this awards show might definitely shift to Lady Antebellum’s favor! They put their album just in time for those nominations! And the ACM pulls an Academy Awards style move with 8(!) artists competing for Entertainer of the Year. That’s never happened before. Lastly I like that Carrie Underwood’s new album got an album of the year nomination! It’s her best effort to date, better songs too!
Taylor and Carrie may be favored, but don’t be surprised if Miranda Lambert wins something. She might give those big selling names a run for their money with the awards hardware! She’s a good singer too, with her raw singing style.
I think you’re right. My gut is telling me she’ll win FEMALE VOCALIST, and she deserves it.
It would be special if Brooks and Dunn wins for the last time as a duo. They might give it to the popular Sugarland, but B and D should win that award to close out their career on top along with their upcoming tour!
They get their own tribute show the day after the awards, and they also will be getting the ACM Milestone Award. It was announced a while ago.
I’m very pleased to see a lot of Lady A, Carrie, and Miranda on this list!
This awards show is not going to be Taylor’s night anymore. This will be the end of her hot streak (finally).
FVOTY will go to Miranda or Carrie, EOTY will go to Carrie, Taylor, or Zac Brown Band, MVOTY will go to Keith, AOTY will go to Lady A or Carrie, Single of the Year will go to Miranda, Song will go to Carrie or Taylor, Vocal Event will go to Carrie and Randy, Vocal Group will be Lady A, Vocal Duo will be Sugarland even though this is Brooks & Dunns final year, and Music Video will go to Taylor Swift.
Those are my calls. Let’s see how well I do!
The only one I have a problem with on this list is Taylor Swift for Female Vocalist. The girl is not on the same planet with Reba, Carrie, Miranda or LeeAnn! Martina deserves to be there over here. I’ll give her EOTY b/c I’ve heard she puts on an awesome show and that’s what that category is about but a vocalist?? Not in this lifetime and not without auto tune!

I think Miranda should win FVOTY and Album of the Year. I really like “White Liar.” If she wasn’t to win FVOTY I say give it to Reba. She has also had a great year.
Would love to see Keith Urban win entertainer of the year. He is awesome.
