In the first official video from their upcoming She & Him Vol. 2, due March 23, the titular duo (a.k.a. singer/actress/Cabbie-wife Zooey Deschanel and indie-folk star M. Ward) go back to school like Rodney Dangerfield.
With its classroom choreography, meet-me-by-the-lockers eyes, and gymnasium hula-hooping, the clip is a kind of loopy cross between “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” Bye Bye Birdie, and a Gap ad, with opaque tights. Watch below:

I feel like I’ve just watched a musical!! That makes me happy
By all the laws of taste and physics, I should hate She & Him. But somehow, the sum is more than the parts, and I absolutely loved Volume 1. It looks like Volume 2 is going to be the charming, quirky sequel. I’m in.
She’s just too adorable for words. Its impossible not to like that video simply because its Zooey.
That was adorably dorky. Well done. I loved Vol. 1 and am looking forward (even more now) to Vol. 2.
That was gosh darn cute!!! That video is going to put a smile on my face for days. I love She and Him, they are amazing. I can’t wait for Volume 2 to come out.
Wow. That was terrible. What is wrong with you people?
I love that imperfect choreography.
I love Zooey and M. Ward! They are both so talented and I cannot wait for Volume 2!!!
She & Him are simple & fun. Hula hoop sequence reminded me of choreography in Feist’s “1,2,3,4″. Loved Zooey’s little half skip down the hall after the music stops.
As if I couldn’t be more hyped for Volume 2, they go and showcase Zooey’s adorableism. Made up word? Absolutely. But it fits.
So… weird, but I love it somehow. I love Zooey!
This woman is the most beautiful creature to grace movie screens AND my CD player in years. I have a sentimental heart for Ms. Deschanel, and I think She & Him are amazing. (M. Ward is pretty cool too).
soooooooo excited!
i adore them both aand can’t wait for volume 2!
