She also performs the soundtrack’s lead single, “Nothing,” and today brings a new video for the airy ballad, on which she cries out for more communication in a troubled relationship.
Watch after the jump as Patricia attempts to make things work with her too drunk husband, destroys some furniture, and then has a good cry with her girlfriends.

It’s not the best song in the world but it’s the first single she’s released in years which really sounds like the Janet we all knew and loved. Her last 3 albums have been terrible. Where are Jimmy & Terry?
I think Feedback was good. The Discipline album had a couple good songs.
Feedback sucked i like Janet reminds me of old school Janet
also Im sorry Janet but that weave got to go…..
Um… Where have you been? She release a new song last year called “Rock with You.” It was on her greatest hits cd.
David, Rock With You wasn’t on the greatest hits CD, (I love it though!) The only aong from discipline that is on the CD is Feedback, which is also a good song
And Discipline is a good album, it just wasn’t publisized the way it should have been…
While I’m sure Michael Kors would eviscerate whoever designed the crotch on those pants, Janet is looking lovely and the song is pretty. The movie footage of her husband pouring alcohol all over her is pretty upsetting to watch, however. Who could treat someone like that?
She sounds too much like Michael in this song. While I’m sure that is on purpose, it’s totally annoying. …sorry, Janet, this is not your best song. Wayyyy too wordy in the verses and a blatant attempt at recapturing the feel and sound of “Again” – at least that song had simplicity going for it, so the jumble of words cascaded in an easy melody and simple chord progression. It gave you a chance to hook in. This song is just all over the place.
I LOVE JANET…. the song is just okay at best. SHE NEEDS TO STOP WEARING THoSE PANTS. lol. I’m sure the movie will be sappy and melodramatic like all Tyler Perry movies, but I will watch it anyway… like all tyler perry movies. lol. haha.
Song is nice and fits in with tone of movie although that weave is mad distracting. So many of these stars need new weave specialists….yes, Serena Williams, I’m talking to you too…lol.
I definitely co-sign on those pants. They HAVE GOT TO GO…LOL. As much as I loved that decade, this ain’t the 90s and MC Hammer has been MIA for like forever.
I didn’t even notice the pants at first because I was too distracted by the shoulder pads on that top. That whole look needs to go.
Nice song. Of course Janet sounds like Michael. On all her cd’s she has the same vibe as her brother, vocally. Nice song for the movie. Do I consider this the best she has done, no. Janet has nothing else to prove. She has been in the business since age seven and making the transition into movies is now a good thing. Glad to see Janet coming of age as a woman on the big screen. Looking forward to seeing her in this film.
crap
I like the song, I love Janet. She’s great at anything she does.
The song is mellow and fits perfectly for the movie it was created for. I like that she is actually singing again and not cooing. And the comment about sounding too much like Michael is ridiculous. She’s ALWAYS sounded somewhat similar but we know his voice was much crisper than hers… and I guess being siblings would influence a similarity. I loved the first movie and I am 100% sure I will love it’s sequel as well. Janet, we need another “message” album from you! Trying new things is what promotes great artistry and growth but sometimes, returning to your roots helps to recapture the magic. I love you regardless of what you do… as long as you put 100% into it. As I know you always strive to do in music and your acting roles.
The song’s a bore and the video is pretty much a typical movie video with scenes from the movie. Janet needs some new producers and writers for her music. Also get rid of the pants. They look like you stole them from will.i.am.
Yes, am going to see the movie. The song was beautiful.
For once lala we agree on something. The clips of the movie show a powerful acting performance by Janet and the song goes well with the movie. Of course she sounds like her brother, HE was her brother.
Janet has a great voice- I love mostly everything she does. I’m not to crazy for this song but I don’t hate it either… The song fit the move which I’ll be seeing on sun. Good luck with all you do Ms. Janet Jackson RIP MJ
How much work has she had? I wish she
would work with a producer that would
take her to a “musical space” far different than before, because she is
clearly talented, and deserves such.
That’s my baby I love this video.
Janet who? tee-hee
LUV IT, LUV IT, MS JACKSON.
