M.I.A. trashes Lady Gaga: 'She's not progressive, but she's a good mimic'

Some people are so jealous of Gaga it’s not even funny. Let me finally clear the air, cause some people are so stupid they need to read this. Lady Gaga is a REAL artist and MIA is a one-hit wonder. All the people that have commented below, saying that they agree with MIA are complete Morons that don’t have a clue what real music is. Gaga uses the “Pop” scene to make fine art out of commercial art, said herself. She’s a genius, and that why great artists like Elton John and Yoko Ono praise her! You don’t see Elton John and Yoko Ono performing with MIA, come on, give me a break people. and really, who the hell cares what MIA even says, she’s so full of herself it’s annoying. GAGA FTW:)

Lady gaga is just a fun going popstar who claims to be simply that. Yes, MIA is good at her poltical poetry etc, but this was uncalled for and inaccurate. All people ever like to say is “Gaga copies!?11?!” because of her success at doing what the hell she wants. Newflash, a cone bra and a red hood aren’t copy righted by anyone; neither are sunglasses . For pop, her music is pretty good lyrically as well as the dance aspects. Music has different purposes, I’d never listen to somewhere over the rainbow in a night club >.>…She is a classically trained pianist that writes AND at least co-produces most of her tracks. Went to her concert, did like 20 numbers in a row live vocals while doing all the choreography. She’s fun and she works hard and I just don’t see why there’s reason to take out personal time to see who she ‘copied’…since she never really claimed to be the most original person ever. (because no one truly is unless you’ve been isolated your entire life). She definitely doesn’t care about the fame over the fun and musical messages, aka the titles of the first two albums were about the fame and how stupid it can get. Yeah, you can get an example of one lyric from 1/100 songs (like “rah rah rah, ahh that’s not deep”), but to be honest, tons of songs have syllables in some part of the song that doesn’t really mean anything. No one uses captivated, speechless, vanity etc as examples do they, because it’s one sided. I don’t understand why people cannot like MIA and Gaga, though Gaga never bashes other artists like I just read above. She understands it’s subjectivity and isn’t vengeful against the (albeit corrupt) music industry.

I don’t care for either one of them. Gaga’s music is one note and there isn’t much distinction to me from one song to the next. Gaga seems more concerned about getting fame and attention, which she has obviously succeeded at. By the same token, M.I.A. is one of these pretentious critic’s darlings who makes average music but because she is provocative they think she is cool. The funny thing is both Gaga and M.I.A. are more concerned with attention than anything and they do it by being provocative. The difference is that Gaga is hugely successful at it and M.I.A. isn’t by commercial standards, which is probably why M.I.A. is mouthing off–she’s jealous and knows by bad mouthing Gaga her interview will get the attention it otherwise wouldn’t.

Im not on your stupid lady gaga side. I love how M.I.A trashes lady rich girl gaga. M.I.A 4 life!

There’s nothing wrong with being a derivative of all the mega-super-stars that came before you. It’s called evolution. Think MIA is jealous the whole world knows who Gaga is but not everyone knows who MIA is.
